This is where we fight! This is where they die!

So I saw 300 (I've seen it twice now) and I have to say that it's my favourite movie since V For Vendetta. It's like a more action-packed version of Troy, with a better storyline and better fighters. It's visually pleasing and the choreography is astounding. I loved all of the moves the fighters used, it was like watching God of War in movie form. There wasn't too much talk, but it also wasn't just blood blood blood kill kill kill lol. Even though the ending wasn't what I puctured (I didn't know the history of the battle prior to seeing the movie) it still was a good finish. I'd like to have seen the final battle of the 10,000 though. So I guess the point I'm trying to get across is that 300 is an epic movie, it's adrenaline-packed, and it's sure to satisfy. You won't be disappointed seeing this film.

Beat Gears of War on Insane with my buddy.

I have to be honest and say that it wasn't as "insane" as I thought it would be. Jeff Gerstmann said Hardcore was difficult, especially at the end, but we had no trouble with either Hardcore or Insane. So with all of these people doing speedruns nowadays, are there any people crazy enough to try speedrunning GeoW?

Bigger TV for more $$ or smaller TV for less $$?

I could get a 19" LCD HDTV for $599.99, or a 23" LCD HDTV for $699.99 or $799.99. Is four inches worth $100? $25 per inch? Do games still look good on a smaller TV, and can you still read fonts ("Checkpoint" in Gears of War for example, or ammo counts)? The TV would go in my room, which isn't very big. Right now I have a tube TV 13" to play my N64 on and it is great from across the room, even if the 64 is many years old lol. Anyone have any feedback?

Bought Call of Duty 3 for my Wii today.

I had been looking into this game for a long time and finally decided that I'd pick it up. I've beaten the first four missions, and I have to say it is a pretty good game. Yes, the graphics aren't as good as a 360 or PS3, but I am playing on a 19" curved screen CRT TV. I can't wait to get to my 27" flat screen with component once my basement renovations are done lol... Anyway the controls work well, sometimes your guy will go crazy and look to the corners sporadically but it's easily fixed. The battles are still intense, the gunfire and audio are top-notch, and I'm having a really good time with it. Another positive is I've heard it's a short game but it's taken me a couple of hours for only the first few missions. At it's current stage, I'd rank this game a 8.1/10.

LV.21 RESCUE RANGER - Finally

I have finally overcome the Lv.20 glitch, and am officially Lv.21. It's about time too. Sometimes I'd only go up by 0.50% a day. But it's over now and hopefully my level will increase quicker!

So... Mass Effect is looking pretty sick.

This game looks phenomenal. To date, I don't think BioWare has even made a bad game. I think it'll easily score a 9.0+ The Xbox 360 is going to have so many good games in 2007, it's wicked. I don't have a 360 yet but with the price of the PS3 and the arthritis from the Wii, I really can't wait to get my hands on a 360. Well that's my two sense worth. I said it before and I still stand by it - Xbox 360 is by far the way to go.

Finished MGS 2: Substance

Wow.
This game is incredibly amazing. The cutscenes were phenomenal, and the story was easily the best I've experienced in any game. I'll admit that I still am not completely positive about the ending, it was a little confusing. I'll just have to read a plot summary/analysis somewhere. I hear that the story in the original MGS (or MGS: The Twin Snakes) is even better. I do know about what happened in the original (or somewhat) from the cutscenes and dialogue in MGS2, but I still want to play it and experience. Btw does Ocelot twirl his revolver more in MGS1? I wanted to see some more finesse but he didn't do too much in MGS2. He was still a sweet enemy. Anyway a final word to anyone who hasn't played Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance... Go out right now, buy it, and love it.

Finally made the dive into Metal Gear Solid.

So I'm and Xbox/N64/GameCube owner, and until now I hadn't experienced MGS.  I got MGS2:Substance last year for christmas, but haven't got around to playing it.  What a mistake that was.  I am thoroughly enjoying it so far, it isn't to difficult and it's really fun.  I don't know if it's better than Splinter Cell, but I know the storyline definitely is.  Plus, I already see why people love Snake so much, he's just a cool character.  So I started with MGS2, then I'm going to get MGS:The Twin Snakes.  I wish I had a PlayStation 2 so I could experience MGS3:Snake Eater.  Oh well.  Maybe I'll get a PlayStation 3 and get both MGS4 and MGS3... But I doubt it.  X360 is still looking like the way to go for me.  Anyway I'm off to play some MGS2 now.

Iron Maiden = God

So I went to the Maiden concert last night at the ACC in Toronto. It was legendary! I had never seen them live, though I've liked them for a while now. They played the new studio album, A Matter of Life and Death, then played five classics. It was unbelievable. The band was flawless, and Bruce (the singer, for you non-Maiden fans) was moving constantly, and always keeping the crowd involved. They're touring next year, and there's no way I'm going to miss it. (Chant) Maiden! Maiden! Maiden!
