This is the part where I say I'm sorry and I'll try yo be more active in the future but at this point, I'd be lying. So I'll officially come out with it. I've lost the desire to blog on GameSpot. I appreciate all of you that have supported me on my 2 years on the site and my time here has definitely helped me grow as a person. I'll still be active on the site in a specific union so if you ever want to talk, just send me a message. If you want my E-mail address to discuss things more personally we can do that to. I'll also comment on a few blogs occasionally as well as post some reviews. For now though, I think that I'm done blogging for a while.

New Year update and slow down on blogging
by RidersInThe-Sky on Comments
The holidays have run their course, 2010 has been broken in and January is slowly coming to a close. Well the days of rest in my huge full sized bed at home are now over and I'm back in my dorm room adjusting to my class schedule.
Not much has changed other than a past semester of experience. I mostly spent my vacation watching movies and reading comics. The only game that I've played over the whole break was Mass Effect, which I replayed to Level up to the max and establish my continuity for Mass Effect 2 (which I'll be reviewing for my school paper). Though in the near future, I do hope to pick up "Arkham Asylum" and "Prototype". I have also created a best movies of 2009 list. If anybody is interested, the list is here (note that #10 was a guilty pleasure that I included purely out of surprise value): http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/riders-picks-of-2009
Last but not least, this is the part where I usually say that I'm sorry for the lack of updates and I'll try to be more active in the future. Well, not this time. All of my busy work aside, I've come to accept the fact that I'm just falling out of blogging now. I'll try to read and comment as much as possible but this is where I am officially pulling back on blogging. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not stopping entirely. Just to stay active, I'll try to put at least 1 blog out every month.
Later Gamespot.
Counting the seconds to the Holidays

Sorry for the lack of activity. I bought a new Laptop weeks ago that I've been loving. Unfortunately, the internet connection in my dorm has crashed so I've been left with nearly no internet access for the past4 days. Even as we speak, I'm writing this blog from a library computer the day before finals week. That said I've also been studying heavily, as my Algebra and Psychology finals will probably determine whether or not I pass those classes for the semester (Yeah, I really suck at math).
Just 3 more days before my finals let out and I'll be home for a month ( Thank God! ) . Until then, my hands are tied, but it won't be much longer.
Why Does God Hate Technology?

Remember that last post that I made about being more active? You can pretty much throw that out of the Window. Due to an unexplained Hardwaremalfunction, my laptop's charger port won't read anything connected to it without jamming it in so hard to the point of damn nearbreaking my AC adapter. Because of this I have to conserve power, so I'm writing this from a Library computer and will probably be as inactive as possible (save for weekends home and free time at the Library) until the problem is handled. Sorry guys, hope to take care of this really soon.

Post Halloween Check-in
by RidersInThe-Sky on Comments
Wow. I know I've been really busy, but 2 months straight without a single post? Talk about slipping.
So if you haven't guessed by now, I've been on my own for over 2 months now. Papers, online assignments, out-of-class experiments, all night projects and studying galore have kept me from making an update for months now. Living on campus hasn't made things any easier; I've already gone through 1 less-than-pleasant roomate, I'm located in the middle of nowhere (not a GameStop, comic shop, or movie theater for 10 miles) and I've got to watch my cash until I can find a place that actually hires. What's left to say? How about I wouldn't want to be anywhere else :D .
My first semester has already left me with friends that I intend to hold on to as life long pals. Hopefully I can get up some videos with them someday. The freedom to progress through my schedule at my own pace is also one of the most liberating things I've ever experienced. Thankfully despite being rather remote, my campus is next door to a Wal-Mart so I can food shop easily and keep up with DVD and Video Game releases.
As a Jouranlism major, working for the school paper is finally giving me a back catalogue of published work for the job I hope to one day have. And by next week, I'll finally be ableto review "Dragon Age: Origins", my first published Game review (funny how my first reviews always seem to be Bioware games). Here are a few highlights of my work so far:
Mouse Guard: Winter 1152 Review
Otherwise, I've been doing a surprising amount of non-game related activity. The most gaming I've done within the last couple of months is about 10 hrs. of Deus Ex: Invisible War, which has all of a sudden started to reach one of the most gripping climaxes I've ever experienced in a video game (I'll be counting the seconds to Deus Ex 3). I've been right back to reading comic books. With money as tight as it is, they're my cheapest form of entertainment, so I usually pick up 3 or 4 issues whenever I'm back home (Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, Grant Morrison's "Batman and Robin", Blackest Night, Phil Hester's Run on "The Darkness", The Mice Templar and Sonic The Hedgehog, not necesarrily all at once). If nothing else it at least gives me something to talk about with my English professor (who also happens to teach a comic book studies cla$$).
I'll leave it at that for now but I'll definitely try to be more active from now on (If nothing else I'll resort to video updates). Don't be afraid to tell me what you think of the articles.

Moving Out and Shout outs (Friends please read)
by RidersInThe-Sky on Comments
Well, in less than a day I'll be out of the house and off to college. I'm staying on campus but have a laptop, so I'll stay in touch. Before I head off though I just want to give a few shout outs to inspirations that have remained constant since I joined the site:
Mitu123 and Nintendoboy16 = You guys always stayed on top of my activity no matter how busy or (sometimes) lazy I was to return comments on your own blogs. You guys are real friends, thank you.
Slipknoob = For giving me the criticism I needed to eventually become confident in my style of writing, very much appreciation.
Ebbderelict = My PS2 running buddy. You took and appreciated my recommendations and have written some of the best User reviews I've ever read. Take care man.
PrincesTwilight = I don't know if you're still active or not, but if you're reading this, you're one of the few friends that kept me with the sight in times of doubt. I'll try to use MSN more often
Zosvaldis5 = Hope to see you around the Toonami forums once I get the time.
Kbaily = Where to begin? Thank you for giving me a union to identify with, a niche for my reviews, and several interesting conversations (even the ones we don't agree on). Thanks for everything.
And as always, thank you to the numerous supporters and friends (Just because you weren't mentioned doesn't mean you're thought of any less) I've had throughout my time on GameSpot. Next time I write a blog, I'll officially be on campus.

Moving out in 10 days, New content, and Summer overview
by RidersInThe-Sky on Comments
Long time, no blog GameSpot. Sorry for the lack of updates but I've finally taken care of business so time to dive into pleasure. Well, as much as I can. By the time you all are reading this, I'm probably packing my trunk for college. I'll only be about 3 hours from home so I probably don't expect a tearful goodbye blog but I'll still pop in with a blog or 2 while I'm gone (Now more than ever since I need to build up my body of written work). And as always, I'll be strolling around the Under The Radar forums so don't be afraid to join in on discussions, we can use every member we can get.
Otherwise as promised:
And once more, sorry to skip out on the video but apparently it ran over the YouTube and GameSpot time limits so I'll have to do some editing on it before I can post it. I swear though I will have it out by this weekend.
With all of that out of the way, I'm happy to say that I've been enjoying my summer strongly. I've caught every movie on opening week, kept up with my comics and have even found a game series that I've been meaning to check out for some time. For those of you that have been following my tracked games, you'll probably notice that it's Deus-Ex. I had heard great things about it from all over but, Holy Jeebus. Never did I expect what I got. These have already become 2 of my favorite games of all time a have me waiting anxiously for Deus-Ex 3. But that's a story for another time.
So with all said and done, I'll be off to work on that video now.
Later days, GameSpot
