Part 3

Most of my future blog titles will probably be "Chapter _" just so you know. :P

I'm kind of disappointed I've only gotten 4 comments on both story chapters.... SuperfastSonic even has yet to read it, and he's a main character! Oh well, as long as I'm having fun writing it, and at least one person reads it, I could care less how many comments I get! :D

Chapter 3

Kora arrived with his Gummi Ship a lot faster than the friends had expected.

"Good to see you guys again!" Kora greeted as Jager, Squirrel, and Eric stepped onto the ship. After talking a bit, Kora took flight, with Jager helping out at the controls.

"So what are we doing for you, Kora? Squirrel didn't tell us." Eric asked after a while.

"That's something Squirrel would do." Kora laughed, remembering when he first met the three friends. "Well, there's a man in Twilight Town causing some suspicion.... I was asked to take care of him, but I've been pretty busy with everything else I've been sent to do. Being the child of two heroes isn't easy!"

"Twilight Town, huh? That's exactly where we need to go." Jager spoke, causing Eric to hold back his own questions for a moment.

"Yeah, well...." Squirrel mumbled. "The part of Twilight Town we're going to now isn't the part we want to go to."

"Huh?" Jager and Eric shared each other's confusion.

"The part we're from... it isn't the same. Twilight Town is a world just like Earth, separated into different parts: America, Canada, Mexico.... However, Twilight Town only has two separate parts. Where we're going for Kora is like.... a darker side, I guess you could say."

Jager and Eric both decided not to ask about that any more. They'd figure out what she meant soon enough, right?

"So, um, who is this man we're looking for?" Eric asked.

"Not sure of his name." Kora spoke. "He's not much of a threat, either, but.... I'm not sure. I hear he's been seen running around everywhere, sometimes seen with some sort of weapon."

"What do we do once we find him?" Jager asked.

"Whatever you want. Just don't let him keep running around. If he looks like a threat, you can decide on a punishment."

"Can we kill him?" Obviously, Squirrel had asked this.

"If you see that as the right punishment, I trust your judgement. Go for it." Kora laughed a bit. "Jager and Eric, make sure she doesn't do anything if the guy's harmless, okay?"

"We do that on a regular basis!" Jager and Eric laughed.

The three friends left Kora back on Destiny Islands, having other means of transportation there, and Jager and Squirrel took the controls. Soon enough, Twilight Town came into view. Squirrel directed them where to land, and the three climbed out of the ship.

"Whoa. This place is.... dark." Eric whispered. This part of Twilight Town was definitely not what he had seen before. They could tell the sun never shone much here. The entire place was lit with dim street lights, but casted enough light for them to see.

"Man, I wonder what it's like during the day!" Jager spoke.

"Yeah, well, let's get going." Squirrel took a few steps forward, then realized her friends weren't following. "Will you two come on? What are you, afraid of the dark!?" Both Jager and Eric shook themselves, and followed Squirrel without replying.

It didn't take long for the three friends to scope out the town. There were barely any houses, and most of the buildings were abandoned. There were no people walking the streets, and no buildings had any lights on. The place seemed deserted. Suddenly, Eric noticed shadows cast by a person other than them.

"Over there." He whispered, and pointed to a figure dodging the street lights. The figure spotted them, too, and ran.

"Get back here!" Squirrel yelled, and the three gave chase. Not only did the figure - possibly the man they were looking for - have a head start, but it was much faster.

"We'll never catch him!" Jager said as the three stopped running. Everyone but Squirrel was out of breath. Eric watched the figure for a few seconds, and decided it was going to turn right, since turning left and going straight were both dead ends.

"Through this alleyway, it's a short cut!"

"There's too much stuff, we'll never make it through." Jager spoke. The figure they were chasing seemed to slow down now that it thought the three had given up.

"Maybe not us.... But Squirrel will."

"Oh yeah!" The two were referring to Squirrel's ability she had learned when she was young: Parkour. Squirrel had been standing with her arms crossed. Now she had a smirk on her face.

"Alright, fine. You two keep chasing him that way to lure him to the other end of the alley, where I'll ambush him." She had assumed the figure was a man, but wasn't sure. Jager and Eric nodded and chased the figure, who had stopped running at the corner of the street. As it realized Jager and Eric were giving chase once more, it raced off around the corner.

Meanwhile, Squirrel put her Parkour skills to the test in the long, crowded alleyway. Her first obstacles were three dumpsters, one sitting on top of the other, while the first was next to them. Simple. She thought as she raced towards them, flipped over a rusted silver trash can on the way. She slapped her hands on the first dumpster, forcing herself upwards, and landing on top of the stacked dumpsters. From there she jumped up the wall and onto the roof of what seemed to be an abandoned shop. She raced full-speed towards a large gap between the next building. There was no way she was going to clear the gap without falling smacking her head on the wall of the building. However, she leaped as she came close to the edge, and landed on a couple of stacked wooden creates int he middle on the gap.

She was faced with her final obstacle: getting onto the roof of that second building. She stood still on the wooden creates for a moment, then decided on what to do. She backed up to the end on the wooden creates, which stretched from the middle of the gap to the wall of the second building. As soon as she got to the edge, she ran towards the wall, and jumped at the last second. She kicked off a bulge in the wall which it crumbled a moment later, and her hands just barely reached the edge of the building roof. As she pulled herself up, she glanced over to the streets below. She realized she had done all this rather quickly, as the figure was just reaching the corner. She quickly raced to the edge of the building and waited for the figure to get closer.

Only the building's length away from the figure, Squirrel jumped from the building's roof to the streets below, slowing her fall by flipping over the railing of the terrace. She landed on the ground in front of the figure.

As the figure got close enough to be seen, Squirrel realized it was a man, with the same description Kora had given her. She noticed a look of panic on his face as he realized her was trapped.

"Gotcha." She smirked as Jager and Eric caught up, blocking any ways for the man to escape. The man didn't speak. After a moment, Squirrel summoned her Reconnect Keyblade, and forced the man against the wall, her weapon at his neck.

"Talk. I've been given permission to kill you." She threatened.

"What are you, bounty hunters?!" The man attempted to free himself, but failed. "I didn't do anything wrong! Please, don't kill me!"

"If you aren't a threat, I can't kill you, but if you don't talk I will." Squirrel spoke.

"Why are you sneaking around here?" Eric asked after he and Jager caught their breath.

"I'm looking for a way to get out. I want to get back to the real Twilight Town." The man answered calmly.

"How did you get here, then?" Jager asked in a serious tone.

"I got lost, okay? I crashed my Gummi Ship here a few days ago, and haven't found any way to repair it. I know there's help in Twilight Town, but I can't find my way out of this part."

"Alright, Squirrel, let him go." Jager nodded.

Squirrel hesitated for a moment, then had her weapon disappear. She stepped back before asking, "What's your name?"

The man brushed off his shirt. "Victor." He answered. "Is it okay if I ask who you are?"

"I'm Eric, that's Jager, and the violent one is Squirrel." Eric spoke, nodding to his friends as he named them.

"Violent, for sure." Victor whispered under his breath. "Am I off the hook? You're not taking me to some kind of jail or anything?"

"No, you're free to go, I guess." Squirrel said as she crossed her arms. "Don't be running around here any more, though, aight?"

"If you're here, you must be looking for something, right? Hey, if you don't try and kill me, I'll join you!" Victor seemed relieved he wasn't in trouble anymore.

"You have to be able to fight, you know. We're on.... well, a mission, you could say. Hunting you down was just a detour made for a friend." Squirrel responded.

"I can fight!" Victor pulled out a sword neither of the three had noticed before. "This is my weapon. Yeah, it's nothing special, but it gets the job done."

"Alright, fine. You can join us." Jager nodded.

"What!? No way!" Squirrel objected. "I can barely stand you two! You know I don't work well with others!"

No one replied to Squirrel. She rolled her eyes after a while and accepted it anyway. "Fine... Whatever." The four headed back to the Gummi Ship.

Hope you enjoyed! I didn't have time to go back and correct any mistakes, so please excuse any that I've made. ;)

By the way, I didn't get the chance to pick up The World Ends With You. :( My parents are taking us on a one-day trip on Saturday, so I'll be looking for TWEWY there. If I can't find it, I'll probably order it online. So I'll be getting it soon!
