Same thing here when i saw those gameplay videos i was absolutely shocked...they made Gothic everything that Gothic is not supposed to be...i mean c'mon everybody's looking for a tough hardcore rpg not just another run around and kill everybody because they are too weak game...Gothic was made for the hardcore audience people who like challenges and people who like to think before going into a 1 on 5 battle...because it's like in Gothic even if you are friggin level 70 and you go up against 8 scavengers you'll get your ass handed to you on a silver platter...and all this just looks i don't know...bad...They are trying to attract a bigger audience and with that i really think they will mess the game up...because now the game will include a tracker as i've read...when you get a mission you just activate the map and the map leads your ass to where you are supposed to go...i mean c'mon...i like the game because when someone says go southwest and find a bug you have to literally rely on your compass and spend hours and hours of searching for something...i kow you can turn the tracker off but for me even thinking to put a tracker into Gothic means that they want to make the game for everyone...and that is not a good thing since even Gothic developers are proud of caling the game a Hardcore Rpg...And shiny blue sword that kills a troll with one blow and a tracker...just not Hardcore Rpg...I really hope they make another good game like gothic 2 which is the best in the series for me...and not make a friggin fable game.

Here's my oppinion. From what i've seen i really don't know how to feel or what to expect...At first the change to Deepsilver got me thinking a little bit...okay it got me thinking a lot...what are their experience with this kind of games?...They have literally no experience with the Gothic series so how will they find their way to making another hardcore part of this game?...then i played Forsaken Gods and i uninstalled it when i started walking around with an arrow in my head and arm and they weren't planning on falling off...and on top of that when i transformed into a scavenger the arrows were still there but now guess what...i wasn't able to transform back...yup...i loaded it a couple of times and the same exact outcome...i was hugely dissapointed...Then Risen came out...i played it and have to say...i absolute to the f*cking ly loved it...hands down loved it...best rpg of the year...after playing it i was actually very grateful for spellbound being involved believe it or not :)...than i saw some gameplay videos on youtube and i gotta say...i really don't know what to expect...all that flashing sword power attack s*it...man i was very dissapointed because it looks just like another hack and slash game...and that is EXACTLY what Gothic is NOT...i was very dissapointed...as you all may already know Arcania was supposed to drop this year but it got postponed to 2010...and after playing Forsaken Gods i really can't help but wonder...Do they want to work on it a lot more and hit the jackpot this time?...Or is the game an utter dissapointment and they have to give more money just to see the project through?...share your oppinions with everybody right here...Thank you and cheers to all the Gothic lovers.
Hahahahaha you my soulmate :)))))))...S*it man i don't know i've been asking myself the same Goddamn question all this time...i played like 15 minutes of the game and absolutely hated it i couldn't stomach it it made me wanna puke crap and puke again...compared to the gothic series and risen this game is nothing zero squat...buuuuut...to put it in a nutshell not everybody can love it and not everybody can hate it...it is just a matter of oppinion...all this reviews and recomendations don't mean nothing to me for that same exact reason...every single living human being is entitled to an oppinion...all these guys saying it's a great game i love it oh it's the greatest game ever...okay...not for me but...okay...i can't make them think the game is absolutely hideous...and they sure as hell can't change MY oppinion about the game you know?...if they think it's the best game in the world for them than who the hell am i to prove them wrong...I am a huge fan of the Gothic series and i think those games are the best thing that happened to the gaming world...but that's me right?...if you don't like the gothic series okay your oppinion shut your mouth and don't try to convince me that those games suck...so if they love Dragon Age:Origins cool let them love it...we all need to just shut the f*ck up let them enjoy it and not try to throw our feelings and oppinions at them...A lot of things in this world are debatable...this is not one of them.
@ Xeros606 I think you got me a little bit wrong :)))...I think i wrote in this one or in the previous post...Geforce 9800 GTX is 120$...BUT...Geforce 9800 GTX requires at least a 550 watt power supply which is 80 bucks...so the total would be 200...I told him that if he has a 550 watt power supply which i highly doubt it would cost him 120...if he doesn't it will cost him 200 since the power supply itself is 80 bucks...and i mean we have to go into details here which means...if you don't know how to install the power supply and the graphics card they will charge you around a hundren for that too so...you have to take all things into consideration...A PNY Geforce 9800 GTX on 512 mb is 120$ at bestbuy right now...and the power supply is additional 80$...but please think A LOT before you decide to buy a graphics card...because the newest ATI Radeon cards are out and in a month The newest Geforce cards will be out too...games will get better graphics will get a lot better...new hardware goes out every single friggin day...so really...think before you buy because you might find yourself in a situation where you buy a graphics card that after 5 months will play games on lowest settings only....I give the 9800 GTX another let's say year or so...after a year the 9800 will not be able to play every game on high like it is now.
I just don't think they care...i'm sure as hell they don't pay attention to other games as they do to world of warcraft...i mean let's face it...WoW is their golden mine their golden cow and they are milking the life out of it...like i said...everything else is just a pocket change...i'm sure as hell they won't pay attention to offline games as they do to WoW.
Nooooooooooooooo...no way...don't buy this s*it i'm telling you...i could give you an advice if i knew what you have and what kind of a budget you have...but i mean...1 gb ram?...Ge Force 6150?...Dude you won't be able to play Mine sweeper on this let alone Assassins Creed 2...If you already have a monitor you can buy more that a decent computer for 700 dollars...if you do not have a monitor...you can still buy a PC waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more powerful than this one with the same ammount of money...give or take a 100 bucks (Probably give :))) )...you can get a 550 watt power supply for 80 bucks a geforce 9800 GTX on 512 for 120 a decent monitor for let's say 400 and all the other mambo jumbo you know a motherboard dvd r/w and s*it for 700-800 dollars...this computer you showed us is...damn...just....Goooddamn.
Look in my oppinion World Of Warcraft S*ITS money for Blizzard...i Mean MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of people buying wow and wow expansions and paying per month and paying extra for extra features the game literally S*HITS money for blizzard...Diablo three is like a friggin' hobby to them...they concentrate on wow and improving wow and making more money again...with WOW...because wow is a very well established franchise that even people who hate wow...know about wow...i mean f*ck it...why in their right minds would they sweat and shiver over a friggin game that's going to bring them pocket change at best...good game bad game they don't really care you know...they got it all...so even if they make a crappy diablo 3 they don't give a f*ck because really...what the hell do they have to lose?...This is my oppinion and if this is not the sole and whole reason for them not caring about other games...at least is a huge part of that reason.
Look...i'll give you the bottom line here...If you wanna go for ATI Radeon go for it...The ATI cards are really not weak overall and they are similar to nvidia geforce graphics cards BUT...and this is a big BUT...Nvidia is an older company and a wealthier company...Nvidia pays all the game makers so the games would run smoother on nvidia graphic cards...if you want the best best resolutions and physics no further discussion Zotac or PNY Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX on 512 Mb...Bottom line Nvidia pays all game developers so you can run the games on Nvidia with shadows and everything on highest possible and they pay so people won't be able to play the game on highest possible settings on ATI Radeon Cards...For example i was able to play Batman Arkham Assylum with every single detail on highest with no problem..however a couple of friends with equally powerfull ATI Radeon cards were not able to...My advice is this...Take a look at your budget and then decide...if you wanna pass cheaper go for the Radeon Cards...great graphic cards but only problem is nvidia pays game developers to go against them...If you have a little bit more money to spend go for Geforce 9800 GTX. Second thing...i see one of the games you mentioned is WoW...WoW is an MMO which means the game makers have to make sure that every single living creature that wishes to play this game is able to play this game...Which means no matter how strong or expensive graphic card you get you'll always get the same results on WoW...Crappy graphics...I really don't like Dragon Age Origins i think it's a crappy game but i tried it and i was able to play it on highest possible with an PNY Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX 512 mb...I don't know that much about SIMS but i can guarantee you'll play it on highest settings with this graphics card...if you have around 200 dollars to spend go for Geforce 9800 and you won't make a mistake...if you don't go for ATI and you'll be able to play all the games if not on highest settings at least on high...hope this helps.
True true i have played wow for only like half an hour guilty as charged :)))...but what i saw from that half an hour really looked like the half an hour from dragon age origins...my oppinion at least...nevermind he should anyway download a demo and see for himself. :)
