lol, this topic sure made a rucuss.

Well to answer the question, yes, Pokemon is intended for younger audiences and gamers, in the context only that it's very mild storyline, nothing complicated, no hatred, no love, relationships and characters very bland, but that's not what's the attraction to this game.

Pokemon, as someone has mentioned, is the number one best selling series for nintendo, which obviously speaks for it's self.  Although this is intended for younger gamers, it very much appeals to older gamers.  Everyone who has given the pokemon games a try, have become addicted to it.  And I can't blame them, it is a game filled with a goal, and you want to fullfill that goal, because, as lame as it sounds, you feel satisfied.  The best part of it is the interaction with friends, collecting all the pokemon is one part, leveling up your favorite ones, and creating a monster of a party and challenging your friends is really great fun also.  Also, as someone mentioned, you wouldn't go wrong by buying a used version of the ruby or saphire for the GBA, because pokemon, although a very addicting RPG, surely can't appeal to everyone.  But this is just a 16 year olds opinion.   I will be picking up my copy of diamond/pearl when it's released, if you give them a try, you probably will find yourself buying the game too :D
