This is one of the reasons trophies are the bane of any PS3 gamer's existence. No matter how bad a game is, there are always those people that ABSOLUTELYPOSITIVELYMUSTHAVE that platinum and will lose sleep/social life/food/water/oxygen (gasp) to get it. If the game isn't that great (Lord of the Rings Conquest) stop playing it, go to a better game!

Well, I will generally play a game til I get a platinum, but I don't go out of my way to purchase/play mediocre games or get impossible achievements (impossible = Most online time sinks). if I know I can get the platinum, I normally play the game until i get it, so I feel like my money was worth it. For instance, LittleBigPlanet (which Im still working on the create trophy... which is kind of a pain)

Does anyone actually read the article? It is essentially just saying "Final Fantasy Dev's are lazy." For a game that took them so many years to make with GGI cutscenes, they're just lazy to put more work into designing towns. Depending on the camera angles and the control over the camera, making HD resources for all the dynamic shadowing, roofs, etc, etc. required takes too much time for Square Enix to justify... Hence, they're just lazy. It's not hard to do at all (not saying I particularly have ever worked with such high resolution textures this generation uses), it just involves high resolution textures and more attention to details because you CAN UTILIZE more detail. In older consoles, you could only have so much detail, and basic polygons were easy. Now, you have so many millions of polygons, it just takes more time -- which doesn't mean at all any more difficult -- you're just adding more detail.

You can't limit it to just Nu Metal. And, by the way, disturbed isn't nu metal. It just has a similar sound to nu metal (the grungy metal sound), but by genre definition, it isn't. Korn and limp bizkit were like the only nu metal bands that were big that I can think of. Specific genre's would be stupid... I would sooner have a Guitar Hero: Early Millenium Metal pack And include early taproot, static-x, disturbed, etc...

XBL is run on dedicated servers owned by microsoft, PSN and the dev's have to have their own servers... I can't see how playing games could break both server sets

In BC Canada, I've never been taxed. Try going to 7-11 -- they're generally the best about it. They actually arn't supposed to tax you, but if you don't say otherwise they try to get away with it. it's a gift card -- gift card's arn't taxed. Point cards are supposed to be taxed because you arn't taxed on the Xbox Marketplace. However, PSN Cards you arn't because you get taxed on the PSN Network.

The first one I actually found pretty lackluster... A bunch of easy arena battles on any difficulty, clunky platforming controls, and gunplay that didn't feel right at all? Yea, uncharted 2 is better, fact. There is more than one "Oh my god, that was AWESOME" moments in the entire game.

When you turn the PS3 on, continue holding down the power button on the console until it beeps again to reset the video settings.

It may take about 5 seconds for the second beep.

It's either online only, or no co-op at all for launch... I can't remember.

The game itself may not push console sales on shelves, but it will definitely drive the franchise. I don't think uncharted has much appeal outside of the hardcore fans of the industry to follow it and the word of mouth.
