Plasma freakin' pistol. Charged shot, melee, easy 1-2 kill. And it can take down vehicles... Nothing funnier than making a banshee drop out of the sky with a well aimed shot. The look on people's faces is priceless (or at least what I imagine their face would look like).

Why Gears is a good game:

+Best graphics on a console thus far

+Good, but not great, cover mechanics

+Fast paced action

+Cool Roadie Run and Active Reload mechanics (although, the latter is so easy a caveman can do it)

+Awesome headshots/gory (though not all games with gore are good)

+Hammer of Dawn is one of the best weapons ever

+Berserker encounters are excellent

+Epic supports their game with frequent updates

+Freakin' CHAINSAW

Why Gears is NOT a good game:

-R6V has a MUCH better cover system

-Controls at times are not very responsive

-Bland art design

-Not enough weapon variety (generic pistols, shotgun, sniper rifle, assault rifle*)

-Too short

-Story sucks... Hard.

-Dom is horrible

That said, Gears' positives outweighs its negatives, although it hardly deserves the 9.6 that it received from gamespot. Sure, its graphics are great, and the action is fast-paced, but if you look behind the facade you'll see another third person shooter. Yes, it's fun to blow a Locusts' head off, but the cover system can screw up at times (Damnit, I want to JUMP OVER the wall, not stick to it!).

Even though I have partaken in this thread, it's safe to say at this point that this guy is a total troll, now that this thread has reached 20-page-status.

I have a couple of points to make on this...And it's almost as stupid as Statesman being in that Moral Kombat trailer...

1) The kinds of people who are going to be affected by violent video games (in general) shouldn't have them in their hands. They should be in therapy for their mental condition.

2) BioShock is about suspension of disbelief, as are all fantasy/fictional games. Last I checked, I can't shoot fire out of my hands like in the game. What gives? And Rapture doesn't exist? OMGWTFMABBQ!!!1!1111one1!1! NOOOEEEESSSS!!!!!

3) You can only *harm* little girls in real life on one condition: That they're crouching over a corpse harvesting its life energy, just like in BioShock. Oh, darn. They don't do that in real life, do they?

You guys should avoid THIS game too. It has loads of violence in it.
