In XP, in that same kind of window, there's a check box in that screen that says, "do not display this message again" or something like that. Is there one in Vista the same that you may have missed?
I know in XP once you check that box, the message never comes back unless you change "something else." Then you just check the box again.
TY all for the advice and mostly that video about the oil cooling. It was so cool I made one myself for my comp. The only diff in my jig is my fish tank is a bit bigger (looks like) and Im using the water pump and rad from an old 86 chevy (cleaned up of coarse) powered by a 12v bat from one of the boats (an old one but still works and easy to recharge). The top is not plastic either, i just used plywood.
Rhonda the vet over in Foxtrap got me the mineral oil (thanks for the idea computer guys).
I'm typing this from home and so far it seems to be working great. Program thing shows cpu running at 36°C. I don't have bubbles and I left the power box with the fan on.
Wish I could take some pictures myself (mine doesn't look as cool as the one in the video tho) but I don't have a digital camera (they are kinda pricey) and even when I get one, I don't know how to put a pic up here.
Anyways, Im after gettin back to my gamin. Thnks again for all the help.
Just a heads up to everyone that sigged this guy, you are required to take down the sig if he/she asks.G013M
Well, first of all, I would never ask anyone to not use anything I said in their sig. Thats no problem, plz feel free. :)
I'm having to type this on the computer at work cuz the guy at the computer cafe is mad and wont let me go there anymore. I had set up a fan with some ice in a bag on the front beside the case of one of the comps. It was working great but then another customer came in a accidentally knocked the fan over forward. The bag of ice wich was kinda mostly water by then, fell inside the comp and broke open. The computer kinda started fizzing a bit then all the power went out in the cafe.
I tried to tell the guy it wasnt my fault that the other guy knocked the fan over but he didnt seem willing to listen. Bad luck i guess.
TY for the ppl who gave the pics and advice about the oil cooling idea. Im gonna ask about the extension wires for the stuff that has moving parts and maybe try it. (I gotta find a use for this old fish tank). I like this idea better cuz then i wouldnt have to change the ice all the time.
Now Im trying to find out which oil would be best to use. The pics show cooking oil but wouldn't motor oil or even synthetic motor oil work better and last longer?
Guy at the computer store says I need a new motherboard and he's putting it in for like a 100 bucks.
Ok, I'm at the computer cafe in town and I'm not to happy. I had to take the bus cuz my dad won't let me use his car for some reason (dont know why, it still works) and my brother took his laptop back. My computer is at the store gettin fixed and I took the advice not to say I tried to cool it with water. I just said I dont know what's wrong with it.
Anyways I was talkin to the guy here that run the cafe and he thinks the oil idea is bad to. I tried thinking about it first and I think it would just be to messy gettin the cd's in and out. Someone said about using a fan with some ice in front of it and that gave me an idea.
This should work cuz its safer. I got the fish tank out. So I can fill it with ice, rap the comp bottom in plastic and sit it in there. That should last way longer than the fan idea and the plastic will help the comp from gettin wet. I should be able to put this together tomorrow when I hopefully get my comp back.
It works with beer so its gotta work for the comp to right?
TY for all the advice guys. The watercooling kit looks to hard to build for me and I dont have a lot of money. But seeing as theres lots of fish oil around here (thats the main indurstry out here in NL) can I use that instead of mineral oil? I got an old empty fish tank in the garage I could use.
But now I have another problem. If i have the comp in the oil to cool it the on button will be in the oil and i'll have to dunk my hand in the oil every time to turn it on. Can i get an extension cord for the on button somehow to keep it outside? And will the fans still work in the oil? or do I not need them anymore?
yeah right, noones that stupid .....Suharar
Just cuz I don't know as much about computers is no reason to call me names. I'm looking for advice not name calling ty.
I just bought a new computer a while ago and it comes with a program thingy that tells you the temp of the cpu and stuff. So I noticed the cpu was running a little hot. I took of the side of the case to leave it open and that helped a bit but not a big bunch. So I heard that water cooling works real good so I tried it.
After spraying some fine mist in the case of just pure clean water, a short while after, the computer just stopped working!
I'm now having to use my old laptop just to type this here. What went wrong? Why is this water cooling thing such a big deal when it doesn't seem to do anything but hurt the computer?!
I'm taking it in to my computer store to get fixed and the guy said he'll explain it to me then but I just wanted to know in advance from ppl who might know so I don't get ripped off with false info. I mean I don't want him to try to charge me more for stuff just cuz I'm no computer expert.
TY ahead of time for the advice.
