Randy Pausch: The Last Lecture

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo&feature=player_embedded

So, I had maybe 10 minutes ago finished watching The Last Lecture: Achieving Childhood Dreams

It was just amazing, it was so inspiring and amazing. Don't get me wrong the video is long, but it was SO WORTH watching it!

I was so enticed by his lecture the whole time, it made me thing about what some of my childhood dreams are and how I could hopefully some day accomplish those dreams, and then even after that, to do something like Randy, to help others accomplish their dreams.

Randy was a great man, he was able to take the fact that he was slowly dying and put a happyish spin on to it, and (obviously managed to) be happy. Not only that, but even on something that should be all about him, he focused in on other important people, like his wife and 3 kids. He is just a very selfless man and went out of his way to help others achieve their dreams.

If you have yet to watch this video, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you watch this.

Had a bad day at work? Be happy you aren't this guy!

Think you have a bad day of work? Imagine a day of work for this man.

A climb higher than the Empire State Building just to begin your day of work? Talk about having guts.

This guy is amazing, I know for sure I couldn't do something like that, the general idea of just slipping and falling is overwhelming for a being that high.

He and his partner for their line of work, will climb a antenna tower over 1,750 feet tall! (1,768 Feet to be exact!)

I don't know about you, but I doubt I could do something like this. I'm not afraid of heights, but this is just very high.

My First Signature

This is my First Signature, used for a game called Cyber Nations

This is my first signature ever, I don't know about you all, but I'm proud with this :P, I know its pretty simple looking. Overall, I made this in like 30 or 40 minutes (I kept trying to find something that looked cool, and then fillers to take up some room).

I would like your opinions on this Signature, I will be making more signatures, and if you wish for me to make you one, just ask. I also know people who can make even better ones, and I can ask if they will make them for you. No promises on the others making them.

From Sin to Eternal Life

This one, compared to my last one, will be shorter than the other one. I'm not sure how much shorter, or if I'm even right. I'm just assuming as much.

For this blog, I will talk about Romans 6: 23 and how you can go from the wages of sin (death) to the gift of God (Eternal Life). I'll also be talking about Romans 3: 23 which talks about how we all have sinned, no matter who you are.

23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6: 23The Bible

and

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3: 23The Bible

In Romans 6: 23, it talks about what the wages of sin is, which is death, but if you accept the gift of God, which is Eternal Life through our Lord. This verse tells us that the wages of sin is death. It also tells us that the gift of God is Eternal Life, thanks to Jesus.

In Romans 3: 23, it talks about how we all, no matter who you are, have fallen short of the glory of God and have sinned, and we are then justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I feel both Romans 6: 23 and Romans 3: 23 relate easily because Romans 3: 23 talks about how we have all fallen short of God's glory and have sinned. While Romans 6: 23 tells us, that the wage of our said sin is death, by accepting the gift of God, which is Eternal Life through Christ Jesus. To me, these two verses go together greatly, one talks about how we all have sinned, and the other tells us that even tho we have sinned, we can still go into Eternal Life thanks to Christ Jesus dying on the Cross to pay the debt of mankind.

I'm not sure about you all, but I for one hope that in the end, when all is said and done. I, and everyone else, will have accepted the gift of God and thus, if we lived our life well and good in the eyes of God, been accepted into Eternal Life.

I plan to keep doing these, if there is a Bible Verse you would like me to do one on, or that you would like someone else's insight on, just comment with that verse. I am out of verses that I really like and think would be good for these.

Forgivness? Resolving Conflict? It actually is important.

So, in light of things happening this summer, there are things people wish they could take back, do over, or undo. I being one of those people. But in a sense, everyone probably is one of those people. In light of my situation, I decided to take my friends Zach's advice, do some Bible Digging. Along with that, and Bible Verses I've already been told by others due to completely different things, I decided, I would do another "Note" and this time, do it more in reflect to these verses and how they may relate to me or anyone else.

So, the 2 Bible verses I plan to go over this time are Matthew 18: 15-17 and Matthew 18: 21-22.

A Brother Who Sins Against You

15"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Matthew 18: 15-17

and

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 18: 21-22

So, what are these verses saying? Well to me its saying, if someone sins against you, you should be the bigger person and confront that person, if they listen and they acknowledge the actions taken. You have, in terms, won. If they chose to not listen to you, what actions should you take? You should ask others, who were not originally involved with the conflict, to come in and mediate the situation. If even then they chose to listen, take it to the church, have the people part of the church help you resolve your conflict, they are more likely inclined to help you so you can go back to your days the way they should be, and continue to praise and worship God. And like Matthew 18: 17 says, if EVEN THEN they chose to ignore your attempts, to just treat them as you would a Pagan or Tax Collector. Now, I'm not old enough to know how to deal with a Tax Collector, but I'd imagine its probably to just keep them as acquaintances and to just leave it like that.

Now in other peoples, and mine, situation that may not be as easy as it sounds. But you must take it one step at a time. I can right now tell you, In a sense I've already begun this journey, but in another sense I haven't. I have gone past the first step of getting others to listen, but I can't really take that credit, it wasn't me who went out and found the outside help. Heck! I'd go as far to admit, I'm the offender in this case. I'm saddened that it is that way, but in all honesty, i brought this all upon myself. There were things leading up to this tho, that weren't as I'd say, my fault. But that's done and over with. I feel this situation is able to hopefully be resolved before it get to the point of having to go to the church, or just treating them like Tax Collectors or Pagans. or, so I hope. In a few ways I was the Offende, but for the most part I admit fully, I'm the offender.

Now Matthew 18: 21-22, if you ask me, VERY STRONGLY can tie into Matthew 18: 15-17. In this verse Peter approaches Jesus and asks him "How many times should I forgive my brother when he sins against me? up to 7 times?", 7 times Peter said because, you'd think forgiving someone, the same person, 7 times is VERY generous. But no. Jesus turns around and says what? He says " I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." and in other versions of the bible it says "70 times 7", so basically Jesus is saying "Forgive them a unending amount of times". To me, that shows not only are you a big respectable person, but it shows you are able to move on from any situation in the end and forgive someone of their transgressions against someone.

Again, in mine, and other peoples cases, this can be MUCH harder than what one would hope for. I know I have trouble with forgiving this time around, which is actually kind of a surprise to me, I am generally a very forgiving person. Yet for some reason, the few ways I was offended against in this case, I find it just hard to forgive. I am able to almost guarantee that the people I have 'Offended' have yet to forgive me, nor do I think they should yet. I acknowledge my wrongs, I have and have tried making amends, I was out of line with my reactions. There is no way they should have to forgive me yet. In the end tho, in reference to the Bible Verses, I hope they are capable to forgive me some day.

Now, why did I write this one so soon in comparison to the other one? This is something that I find very very important, and I feel that if people are able to read this one they will be able to think if they are in problem similar to this, and they can then begin on their path to fixing it. Trust me, it won't always be a easy path, it will get crappy, but stick with it like I am, and hopefully some day, everyone will be able to move on and things can return to normal. My situation is on a not so good point, but I hope things will be able to change. This note is about the certain people, and in no way do I mean to offend them with this, I know they know who they are. I would like again to them to say, I'm sorry.

Just remember, in the end of every conflict it leads to a strengthened relationship and that although the conflict is bad, its all part of God's 'Master Plan' per say, it will all work out the way it is supposed to, just stick it out. Pray, reflect, and read. Pray about the situation. Reflect on how the situation is going. Read the bible, dig through it, you'll never know what you find that could help you!

I think that about wraps up this not. Not exactly ending on a happy note, but that's life. Things aren't always going to be happy. It makes life, well life. You live and learn.

(This is so quick after my first one becuase its from my Facebook blog thing, after this one, they will be shorter than this and take longer to make a new one, so no worries)

The Sheep and The Goats

In this Blog, I want to go over my thoughts and feelings on The Bible verse Matthew 25: 31-46, and very briefly touch down on 1 Corinthians 9:27.

The Sheep and The Goats

31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Matthew 25: 31-46

In this, I want to make points on this Bible Reading. The reading is self-titled "The Sheep and The Goats". Its about how when Jesus comes back and takes his rightful seat on the throne, he will, like a Shepherd, separate the Righteous from the Unrighteous. The Sheep (Righteous) and The Goats (Unrighteous).

In many ways, I personally feel that this set of Bible Verses, could quit possibly be the scariest set in The whole Bible (besides this point, I find this verse very intriguing and I would have to say it is possibly one of my more favored verses, but I guess that is because I did my sermon on it and found in particularly straight forward and intimidating). It in essence says "What you are doing right here, and right now with your life truly does matter, don't waste it. Do what you would expect the righteous to do. Invite the stranger in, clothe the clothe less, care for the sick, visit those in prison, feed the hungry and give a drink to the thirsty." I feel, that with that said, it is basically a "Live life well and right, for if you don't, it is very possible to be considered unrighteous" and to be considered unrighteous, would mean instead of being sent into Eternal Life, you are sent into Eternal Punishment. Which, obviously, is the exact opposite of what you would naturally want to pursue. Yet even beyond this naturally feel in which one would want to be accepted into Eternal Life, there are still those who have not seen the love of Christ and without knowing it, are on the wrong path. But if someone would be able to take the time to Witness to them, that can all change in a instant, and it would be possible to soon after have another Brother or Sister in Christ.

Besides for the moral choice of doing what is right and respectable, the ability to then possibly being chosen by Christ as someone who is Righteous and then given Eternal Life, in my own opinion (because I, let alone anyone else, has the ability to rightly speak on someone else's behalf), is the ultimate pay off, who wouldn't want to be accepted into Heaven and being able to live in a perfect world with God and Jesus? I know I would. That is why I, or so I hope, I have lived my life, so far, well and have been able to change peoples life in a good way and will in the end be accepted into Heaven along with everyone else in my life. But who I am to speak for God? I can only hope that I will, in God's eyes, be able to be considered Righteous. This all particularly reminds me of a verse (My favorite) which is 1 Corinthians 9: 24-27, but in this case, I want to focus on 1 Corinthians 9: 27, which says:

27No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

1 Corinthians 9:27

Which is saying, that even after my life is over, I hope I have lived in such a way that I will not be disqualified for the 'Prize', which would be Heaven and Eternal Life.

But, to finally end on this note, I just hope you can ask yourself, "How am I living my life? Am I hopefully living on the path of the Righteous or am I on the path of the Unrighteous?", Its a personal question that is, in my opinion again, very important. I hope that we all can be able to say "I, to my knowledge, have been living the Righteous should live". But, as I've stated, I don't know if the way I, or anyone is living, are at the standards of what The Lord would consider Righteous.

And I think that about wraps up everything I wanted to say and go over on these Bible verses. I realize this may not be the best writing along with my grammar and spelling, but I hope that in the end, my thoughts are portrayed and you, the reader, are able to understand them. I also acknowledge, some people may not be able to understand this, but it made sense to me in my head , now if it makes sense on paper... that is a complete different story.
