Hated it? It was the best ending!

I know, I grew close to John too, but then when he did all of that and sacrificed himself for his family and he died... I was moved, RockStar really surprised me with that game, and it was a great game. Also I think MGS4's ending was a great one too.

MGS4, Old Snake crawling through the (I am not sure on the name) Microwave like hallway, then finding the strength to fight Liquid and then...

Also, the ending to RDR, It really got me, I really liked him.

[QUOTE="Ryan_Kitchen"][QUOTE="Wiffle_Snuff"] No taxation without represenation? Didn't you crazy yanks fight a war with an awesome nation over something similar? Did the settling families of America take citizenship tests when they arrived? No? Too busy killing Indians and taking their land I guess.worlock77

Someone touched a nerve... and you are calling Britain awesome, and calling us yanks? The settling families came here to escape a Tyrant and have more freedoms. Then they were taxed and they simply asked for Representations and they were told they are 'Virtual Representation' (I think thats the word). Also, is the "Too busy killing Indians and taking their land I guess." thing even necessary? You seem to assume that EVERY one in the Pre-American Nation was out to kill all the Indians and take all their land, some did. Not all took part, actually alot left them alone and wanted to let them be. Don't be sore about the Revolutionary War, it was a long time ago.

Actually most came here because there was plenty of land up for grabs. It had nothing to do with "escaping a tyrant".

The people of England (Catholics) fled to 2 other countries because the King of England left the Catholic Church because he could not divorce his wife, he made The Church of England (Or something to that affect, it was basically the same as the Catholic Church) and as those people fled and were booted from other countries they came to America. Also some came to America under the Mercantilism System (The Colony exists solely for the benefit of the Mother Country). Many Pilgrims, Puritans, and others came to America for a more free choice of their religion (to worship w/o persecution). They described the King of England as a Tyrant, and as the generations of those Families went on they considered themselves more of Americans than that of British Subjects. Although there was the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 rule, (1/3 for independence, 1/3 loyal to the king, 1/3 who don't care), the large majority of the whole soon to be nation, agreed that they had no proper representation within Parliament. Again, they called this next king a Tyrant also. They didn't come here for the land. They came either to escape and worship w/o persecution, or they came here as part of the Mercantilism System, to make money, then go home.

[QUOTE="goth_bacon"]Absolutely not. That's a terrible idea in every way.Wiffle_Snuff

They're forced to pay taxes, yet they no voice in the government?

Actually Darwin's idea that animals change over time due to natural selection has been proven repeatedly, and many things in the bible have in fact been disproven (like the earth being about 6000 years old)

RationalAtheist

I'm sick of seeing that reference. Where in the Bible does it say earth is 6000 years old?

Various people have made a chronology of the bible, by taking the eras and epochs people lived in. The most famous one is by James Ussher (Bishop of Armargh in 1654. He deduced that the creation of Earth happened at nightfall preceding Sunday October 23 in 4004 BC. It was used in the newly printed King James versons of the bible and kept in them until recently. Others, including Isaac Newton, came up with similar dates. it was the beginning of the textual criticism movement.

But in using the chronological interpretation you are assuming that the 7 Days of Creation in Genesis were 24-Hour days, but we don't know if that is fact, as far as we could possibly know a Day during the 7 Days of Creation could be much much more compared to what it is now. Also, you are assuming there are no gaps within the Bible that could mess with the Chronological aspect of interpreting the age of earth.

[QUOTE="VisigothSaxon"]

That is all inconsequential, both still cannot be proven/disproven regardless of what tools we have right now. The Bible as old as it is has yet to be proven/disproven the same goes for Darwin's Evolution.

I really enjoy Pawn Stars and American Pickers. There is a ton of history in the things they get and the specialist who examine them. Very interesting.

drufeous
Agreed, but the other things like 'Swamp People' really? What is the point... and Ax Men, it isn't pointless, but not very History Based, its to much reality TV. Its like Deadliest Catch for Discovery, I don't see any point in it :P
