Songs I can't stop listening to

Massive Attack: Teardrop

You may have heard this song as the opening theme from the TV show House or from a trailer for Assassin's Creed. I love everything about this song, from start to finish it's beautiful. The vocals are done beautifully and the music is catchy and pleasent.

Sigur Rós: Í Gaer

This is probably my new favorite Sigur Ros song. Virtually all of Sigur Ros' songs are masterpieces of music and vocals, and listening to them makes you feel at peace about everything. Most of Sigur Ros' music makes me tear up.

The Strokes: I Can't Win

I just recently got into The Strokes (meaning about 2 months ago) and I've really been liking what I've been hearing. I Can't Win is a nice and catchy song with some pretty good lyrics as well. Normally I don't like cursing in music, but The Strokes is an exception.

Eisley: Invasion

I saw them in concert a few months ago, before I didn't have to much of an interest in them since I never really paid too much attention to their music when it was playing. I really enjoyed them in concert, and a few days later I bought their "Combinations" CD. The vocals are great and the music is definetely good as well. Several of the band members are siblings, the two vocalists (Sherri and Stacy) are sisters, and their sister (Chauntelle) is the lead guitarist. Their brother Weston plays the drums, and lastly their cousin Garron plays the bass guitar. They're a great band, and normally I don't like girl bands, but I love Eisley. Also, here's a fun fact: They were named after the Mos Eisley space port from Star Wars.

The Helio Sequence: Keep Your Eyes Ahead

I just found out about this band a few days ago and this is so far the only song I've heard by them, but I've listened to it several times and I really enjoy it.

Muse: Map of the Problematique

I love Muse. They're probably one of the best bands I've heard in years, and their music can either be beautiful or eerie, depending on how the vocals are. Anyone that likes rock music would probably like Muse. I highly recommend them.

Spanish for 100: Go Away, Come Home

They're pretty indie, their MySpace hasn't even reached 20,000 views yet. I found out about them through Spin.com (the website of Spin Magazine) and I've been really loving them ever since. You can download some songs on their website and MySpace if you're interested in checking them out.

The Whigs: Ok, Allright

They remind me a ton of The Strokes, the only thing that's keeping them away from sounding exactly like them is the vocalist. The music is pretty much a lot of the same sounding stuff. If you like The Strokes you might show an interest in The Whigs.

The White Stripes: We Are Going To Be Friends

Yes. This is the song that Napoleon Dynamite opened with. Jack White really knows how to rock, and Meg White is pretty darn cute. These guys have helped me out a lot through some tough times, and I owe them a lot.

Weezer: My Name Is Jonas

So I don't just like Weezer because lead singer Rivers Cuomo is married to a Japanese woman. Now that that's out of the way, I like Weezer's sound a lot. It's almost raw with a touch of edginess, with a tad bit of punk and emo inspiration. Yeah that is a little confusing, I know.

Arcade Fire: Wake Up

One of my dreams is to see them live, I've heard a lot about their live shows and I guess it's one of those things that unless you're there in person you won't get the full experience. Wake Up is one of those songs I like to listen to whenever I feel pretty damn good, it's pretty uplifting. Look up the live video on YouTube, them playing in front of that massive crowd is pretty sweet.
