Hey. I have been thinking about getting a second console. I have a Wii, and its awesome. :3 But there is somewhat of a drought right now. Some things on the 360 really interest me... while some things really turn me off.

>: If I happened to have 400 bucks lying around, I might buy one. *I say 400 because everyone tells me that the core is completely useless, I'm not sure if that is true*

Note: I'm probably going to be a tough case. I can't be defined as "Shooter fan" or "Jrpg whore" because I constantly change the way I feel, and I like a lot of genres of games. Hence why my favorite game of all time was GOTCHA FORCE.

Help me get off the fence, we are at war.

My advise to you is to simply find someone with a 360 on the weekend and spend time playing around with it. It's one thing to argue major points against other consoles on message boards, but it's completely another experience to find out how smooth and streamlined evreything is. I'm sure you'll at least be interested in getting one sometime this year after you've tried it.

Or does the Wii's online service so scuttled that it was just too crappy for devs to use yet?

---

Previous versions of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon allowed players to face-off online, but the Wii version doesn't. Why? Midway points the finger at Nintendo.

"Obviously we had online on other platforms so it wasn't going to be a technology challenge for us," said the game's producer, Shaun Himmerick, to advancedmn.com. "Nintendo didn't have their online system ready for us when we would have needed to implement it," he continued.

Nintendo must have been hogging the online tools for themselves then, because Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is set to release in June, after Nintendo's own Mario Strikers Charged - the first online Wii game in Europe - which goes on sale later this month.

To prevent Wii owners from feeling completely shafted, however, Himmerick goes on to reason: "That is a big reason we focused on giving the single player experience even more attention to perfect the new controls system, the addition of Endurance mode and an additional Kharacter."

Infernal looks alright, but not really that next gen.

Timeshift has really improved, just wished the animation was better.

"Demo should be live tonight on Marketplace at 2AM EST. That's what we've been told. If it's not there at exactly 2AM, please do not shoot the messenger or bring your vitriol here to the forums."

I remember some sheep some months back saying this is the best looking game in development for the Wii. :lol:Not-A-Stalker
I remember the same for Red Steel.

The Wii blows.

[QUOTE="BrownWalrus"]Hey, how long did it take for the 360 to come up with this? Let's see, 1 year about 5 months now. How long has the PS3 been out? About 6 months. I think that should end all arguments.PdIZZLE-PS3

You are a fool if you think you added anything intelligent at all. You honestly think the PS3 guys were just waiting around until November 2006 to start anything on the PS3? The fact is that the PS3 was delayed a year and was being worked on all this time while the 360 was out, then debuted with a highly INFERIOR service.

And what's this nonsense that people like you spout about giving the PS3 a break because it failed match its competitor after all this time? Are we supposed to give it a medal? If a car debuting in 2005 has a highly superior build and safety service to one that comes out 1 year later and at a much higher price, do you say "hey give the second car a chance to freaking catch up? If you download a trusted program (to burn CDs, make music) etc and it is much more fully featured than a similar program that comes out 1 year later, is more expensive and is barebones in comparison, do you go around on message boards advising people to get the 2nd or the 1st product?

HAHA your analogy is completly incorrect. It's more like saying I will buy the 2006 jaguar and be set for a long time instead of buying a cheaper Honda then have to buy add ons to make it run like the Jaguar which it still doesn't.

Just about every dev has confirmed that the PS3 and 360 are comparable machines. They each have their advantages and disadvantages, but the machines are very similar. They are even closer than the PS2 and Xbox were in their time. You cows have this foolish notion that the PS3 is leagues beyond the 360 when it ISN'T in any tangable measure to the consumer, and it cetainly isn't $200 better. So no, you're the one who embarassed himself with the PS3 = posh Jaguar, 360 = cheap Honda analogy. Think before you post.

[QUOTE="ryder05"]But you have to pay for it on the 360. PS3 does it for freeBrooklynBomber

YOU PAID $600 FOR YOUR CONSOLE. THE 360 COSTS $400. ADD $50 FOR ONLINE EVERY YEAR FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS, WITH FEATUES AND SERVICES THAT'S ALWAYS GOING TO BE AT LEAST A YEAR AHEAD, MANAGED BY THE BEST SOFTWARE GIANTS IN THE GAMING BUSINESS.

PSN IS BLOWN INTO SMITHEREENS. IT DOES NOT STACK UP. BY THE TIMEIT FINALLY MATCHES UP THE 720 WILL BE OUT.

Yea the ps3 also has a blu-ray player standard and you can install ydl plus it's hard drive is bigger and upgradable making a better value than the 360 that just plays games imo. The fact that psn is free and lag free for free with free content is a huge bonus imo.

1) Most people who buy movies do not give a crap about Blu Ray. DVDs crush it completely, and when it subsides in a few years downloadable content will take over. Lauding Blu Ray or HD-DVD for ANY victory is laughable. As far as games development goes, it's more of a hindrance so far.

2) YDL and other forms of Linux have long since proven to run TERRIBLY on the PS3. It is a CHORE. Hell even loading it up takes long, and even then you can't really use it for anything much than surfing the net, which you can do on the PS3 browser anyway. It's a useless gimmick that no one uses seriously. PLEASE stop quoting it as an actual benefit of buying a $600 console.

3) The 360 has upgradable HD and the Elite has a 120G HD

4) PSN is lag free right now because there's barely any content and barely anyone using it. Remember how the servers crashed badly when the GT demo came out? The 360 runs on a much better service with at least 5 million multiplayer online users (not counting the silver users who download content as well). You better cross your fingers and hope that the PSN holds up when the traffic grows in a few years.
