Damn, it's been since August 18, 2007 since my last blog post. That post involved the upcoming Xbox 360 game, Bioshock. I pointed out in that blog that I believed the game was going to live up to high hopes for gamers. They could be into the story, first-person shooters, wanting the big hit games... you name it. Also, one of my top favorite GameSpot editors, Jeff Gerstmann, reviewed it. I had a good feeling he'd be up to the task and gave the game those high hopes, 9.0/10... awesome. Funny how Jeff Gerstmann made his GameSpot account three days after my birthday and the same year I made mine. I think that was when they changed the site around with official user profiles. SHBoyZRyan was made because of Silent Hill and involving a team I started with an online friend I met because of the series.
Since then, I'm always wondering why I quit my every day activities on GameSpot. Well, if you've been a long time GameSpot user like me, you can see why. Jeff Gerstmann, Greg Kasavin, Ryan Davis, Brad Shoemaker, Alex Navarro, Tim Tracy and many more... are not with GameSpot anymore. I don't think Tyler Winegarner is working with the site anymore. I enjoyed the night of the Silent Hill 3 text/video review being put on the site by him. GameSpot was so great back then, I can remember all the good times on this site. GameSpotting, Video Reviews, GameSpotting Live and Forums... so much fun. Those past times: All those games I read up on, excised about, release of the games, getting them and reading the reviews. It was neat to live in the moment of all those past games for the PS2, GameCube and Xbox. All the activity I did back then got me to know the editors better and gave me reasons to come here. GameSpot was my choice for reviews and all news involving video games. I remember when the site wasn't even named GameSpot yet. I used a different username back then.
I know some of the biggest reasons I continue to come here is: Ryan Mac Donald (got me into Counter-Strike, long time staff of GameSpot... believe started with the site or not long after), Justin Calvert, Andrew Park, other editors/staff that have been with the site for a long while (I know who you are), and because it's been a habit of coming here because of the past times. I check in on the reviews and watch a few videos here and there.
It's just sad that memories can't continue on, sad over a site... that's just a site. But as long as the site continues on... that's what matters. Nothing last forever, times change, you have to move on... grow up Ryan!
Anyone that checks this blog of mine out, leave a comment. Those that some how continue to come here to show a little love...
