So far no connectivity for my PSP and PS3

The main reason why I kept my PSP is to use it as a rear view mirror for the F1 game.. but since the functionality did not come out for the US version, I am not pleased.

I am enjoying the PS3 version.  I have two profiles going on.  One is racing in medium setting with aids off, while the other is on hard settings with some aids on.  I find myself having more difficulty in pulling out consistent lap times when the sun is glaring in my eyes, unlike the PS2 or PSP versions of the game.

Formula 1 Champion Edition

well, the revised version of the F1 06 game is finally here... no more playing the game on the small PSP or the distorted PS2 version... There are rumors for not being able to race full laps online but I will be happy if the lag engine doesn't spoil my rhythm.  I've kept my PSP just because I want to have a rear view... when it comes out I'll be excited.. so what if it is 06... it is the last time I can get to race against MS in full graphics!

Sold my PS2!

So I sold my PS2 and so I can't post new blogs about the F1 2006 career anymore.. :(  I got the new PS3 and have been playing the demo.. haven't bought any PS3 games yet, just waiting for the CE edition as well as other great racing titles, such as MotoGP and WRC

Playing the F12006 on PSP isn't as interesting as the PS3.. can't wait to use my PSP as the mirror.. do I need two or can I just use one?  LOL

Sepang Qualifying and Race results.

Made minor changes to the wings to allow more high end speed due to Sepang's long straights and it paid off...  I learned the tracks with the driving lines on and then turned it off for the Saturday and qualifying and race... On Saturday qualifying, I was on pole with over .9 seconds from the closest contender... but my Sunday qualifying was poor so I was second on the grid... I performed a one stop strategy and won the race easily...

Qualifying and Race, Albert Park, round 1, season 1

With a one pit strategy planned on lap 19, I qualified 15th on the grid.  In early laps, I hit Webber from behind and consequently lost control of the car and lost 6 seconds.  Since the other drivers pitted early, I slowly climbed to 9th spot and fell back to 12th after my pit.  Nontheless, the one pit strategy was paying off as I climbed to 6th spot in 40+ laps but Trulli pulled in front of me and I got a little excited, spun out of control got penalized twice for off track excursion and was down in 10th.  With 8 laps to go, I pushed and pushed and forced my way pass Frischella and Webber with one lap to go but I momentarily lost control of my car again and sadly finished 9th.  Although Red Bull commended me for a job well done and also in coming in front of Coultard, I wasn't impressed.  I'll try to do better at Sepang.

Saturday Practice, Albert Park, Season 1

Well in round one of the Saturday practice session, I did some more laps in manual gear with no driving lines... I also made some laps with some front runners just to get used to cars in front and behind me.  I also began to run on soft tires and my lap times didn't go down nor up.  But this test was critical because it allowed me to get used to the tires.  I didn't pay much attention to lap times anymore, but on half fuel load, I did a lot of 1:31s to 1:32s.  I think this would be the race pace.

Friday Practice Session Season 1

On the morning session, I drove with a more grip setup and only made one hot lap in 1:28.917, which placed me on 10th on time sheet.  Towards the end of morning session, I filled my fuel tank to see my time on half load of fuel. I mostly did mid 1:30s when I was concentrating and 1:31s when I was just driving.

In my afternoon session, I did a fast lap in 1:29.550, which placed me in 8th on time sheet.  I also turned off my automatic gear and driving line and my paced slowed down to mid 1:32 for a while then it began to improve to 1:31 with one quick lap in 1:30.

Tomorrow, I'll begin to try to take more aids off and I hope I can still do top 15.

Career for F1 2005

With the second session of Albert Park playing as Barichello, I got the top spot in the Friday session 2 time sheet, so I decided perhaps I am ready for the career challenge.  I still have all my settings as usual but I am confident I will not be leading the time sheets on a more inferior car.  I tested with Midland, Jordan, and Red Bull and I did well for all their test.  I was offered a 1st driver seat for Midland and 2nd driver seat for both Jordan and Red Bull.  I opted for Red Bull and the news media reported that Midland was stunned by my decision.  Nonetheless, I will be driving in Albert Park for Red Bull.

Trying Out F1 2005 (PS2)

This is why I buy the PS2, motogp and f1.  Can't get better than that.  Well, I'm playing the F1 2005 on PS2 (review version, which allows me to play in NTSC mode), and I have the game difficulty on hard and full realistic laps while most aids are on for now while I get used to the game, steering and braking assistance were turned off.  I am playing as Ruben Barichello (2nd driver for Ferrari) and I did my first full Friday practice session 1.  Most of my laps were on default set-ups except towards the end of the race where I put more grip into my tires.  Well, most of my times were 1.30.000 on dry hard tires, but after putting grip into my set-up, I managed to do one lap in the low 1.29s.  This place me into 12 position for the session.  I'll take a break and work on the afternoon session later.
