OKAY , alot of peeps dont know what there talking about...
Plasma has the best picture compared to lcd, RPÂ blah blah..
an no now days plasmas dont suffer from "burn-in's"
i game and watch widescreeen movies on my 42" panasonic plasma.. best pic quality over LCD's any day..
and who said plasmas arnt reliable??? there most reliable compared to lcd's
LCD's after 60,000 hours it dies picture goes blank .. then u gotta throw it away..
but with plasma's after 60,000 hours it loses its half brightness..
and both lcds and plasmas have a lifetime of 60,000 hours..
plasmas are wayy better.. AND no plasma cant be refilled ..LOL whoever said that is an idiot..
okay let me break it down a bit..
u want to get atleast 200 hours wen u get it .. and when u do that, all video setttings should be at 50% , a lil lower if u wanted to.
now during the breaking in of the plasma.. u want to limit "static images" (network/ch. logos , ticker/news bars, and widescreen horizontal black bars) being left on the screen for long periods of time .. or when watching watever with those static images.. just change the channel every half hour or so so u can refresh the screen ..
Static image : what may cause the problem most peeps over exxagerate about " BURN-IN " .. which with simple care and proper break-in , you wont have to worry wen gaming or watching movies/cable for long periods..
now another thing associated with plasma displays is something called " image retention " or "IR" which is just a ghost trail of the last image the tv screen had when just turned off .. it goes away after so many minutes.. and alot of peeps get paranoid and start saying its "burned" ..
now after u do them simple steps.. calibrating ur hdtv is highly recommended for best picture quality..
they sell a DVD which u can calibrate ur hdtv by urself .. dvd's called AVIA or DVE ..
and yes Plasma displays are far more superior than LCD's.. etcc.. etc..
BTW mount that bad boy on the wall.. thats the advantages of plasma's..
shooots ..
