@so_hai They could resolve discrepancies using the times from the player's own console. I think most fans would be happy with just an HD collection that brought all the old stuff into the modern era and gave them an F-Zero game to play with their friends again, so they'd be too busy being shocked at a new F-Zero game to complain about lag.
30 player online grand prix races to qualify for a master cup (where they unveil 5 new tracks to prevent just grinding time-attack to victory) at the end of the year. Bring back all the old tracks and vehicles. Develop a slightly more robust custom vehicle system, and add a track editor. No need for weapons, just buff spin attack slightly and keep the side checks in there. The ridiculous speed the game moved at and the need for insane reaction times were what made the game great to begin with (like the N64 pod racer game), the formula doesn't need to be changed up much at all.
