I wonder...

Something happened tome today, as i was playing halo3 online, i am Mexican, so my native language is spanish, i rarely use the headphones while in live, but i heard someone speaking and asking if someone spoke spanish, so i hooked them up, so we began to chat, and suddenly he asks, "how old are you" i'm 27, and he answered, "27!!!?" i felt so old...i've been playing since i was 5, i've got a job as a hotel administrator, a fiance, and i also play in a 1-2 hour basis a day, i actually play more during the weekdays, than on weekends , because i use it to relax, and on weekend i go out! there is no way you can keep me inside my house unless im sick, but still, got me thinking...

Am i too old for these?

No, and i will never be, because its a part of me, its been with me my whole life, its a part of who i am and who ive always been, i may play less and less every year, but i dont think ill ever stop playing.

Im gonna ask that the bury me with my M!!Xstation 5 when i die in 2050, if there is an after life, im gonna need it ^^

Leave us oldies alone! we want our sticks and buttons! Still Natal sounds cool..

Talking about Project Natal the key is options, always give people the choice to play however they want, dont force the old timers (like me) that have been playing with a pad since i was 5 with my NES, to play in a way i may not adapt, or like, or not feel in the mood to try, it looks very exciting, but i just might not be in the mood after a hard day of work, or a night out with my girl to have to move to play, instead of just get on my bed and grab the controller, or many might end up like EA with FNR4, giving the option that everyone was asking for, since they said they were going to include only stick configuration, what did they had to do? make a patch giving the option for buttons for try and raise the sales! i mean...damn...they could have earned much more money and saved much more time doing it since the beginning, but oh well...

Anyhow, i dont see Bethesda doing it that much in TESV, it would be cool as long as they give the option for the controller (specially since they are going to try and sell it in the PS3 eventually) for Bethesda i see it more in a cool action game like WET2 or something like it, as for the others developers, well, who knows, we might see ourselves crawling in the ground like snakes 8)

How did we let it happen...?

I am talking about the "downlodable content", damn...what happened to the old, way to go kid! here is you're reward for beating the game! a new costume for your character!, a new area to play in!, you want more? beat it in maniac difficulty! you want your ninja dressed like a halo character? ok, that's cake... go and beat the first boss with out getting hit!, those were challenges, some were able to do them, some not, ok ,but now they want to sell you every god damned thing! they make games short on purpose (not all but most) so you go and buy the extra maps, or islands, or become a gipsy who sees the future.

Now they want to sell you t shirts! for you're damn avatar!, i mean WTF! they were for free a couple of weeks ago! ain't we right now in one bad (if its not the worst) global financial crisis? but we keep letting it happen, because we go and buy the downlodable content, and while they screw us, we smile, and say thanks! some more please...

I don't' know if someone have a different idea about this, but it is pretty obvious that this will continue as long as we let it, as long as we keep buying those dumb "expansions" they will continue to sell them, and instead of buying a complete real game that gives you at least!!! 20-30 hours of gameplay (like the last console generation) for $60-$70 (i mean games ain't a cheap hobby...) we will continue to buy 10-15 hrs. games, that cost the same, and if you want to gain the 10-15 hrs. missing, you'll have to pay at least $20 extra, i mean... damn! since when are we able to throw away money like that?

I don't know you, but the only game i can think of, that offers an expansion, and its a real game, and they sell you a real expansion, its TESIV Oblivion.

So, in conclusion, i only see they're bank accounts getting bigger, with less effort, less quality, while we have to pay more, for less gaming, and $-hi-tty extra content.

But hey... thats me!
