Well,I have to throw in my cents about this issue.Using what I like to call master status.Which is a sociological term.Which basically means the main thing people see or how they think of you. For some people being fat is the master status in real life when someone sees a fat person on the street they admitly see the master status of fat and all the stereotypes with it and never give reason to anything else including that person's sex or ethnic background being fat comes first.
Ā
I see this the same way with xbox live in that with women the master status is being a girl,Nothing else matters about the person other then she is a girl and that becomes the main master status for her,and also the main point of stereotype everybody will think of.For myself being a deaf gamer girl my main status is being deaf which overshadows being a girl or a gamer. So in a way everyone has a master status that affects them in the world and in life always. Rather being Deaf,Fat,Or a Girl.

That post was too intelligent for these forums. just kidding ;) I agree with you though. There is a lot of generalization in society and it REALLY applies to video games. It's too bad that it happens. The girl I mentioned earlier was often asked if she was fat (as well as hit on :\ ). So whats my master status? :P
Thanks,And I agree there is alot of it.But every society has it and even the animal's society has it one needs it to survive you need your first ideas on something rather it be poisonous or in looking for a mate.Though your own master status you should ask a friend and ask how they describe you to other people and what word comes up a alot.
