Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.  He says he didn't drop it, but he is 10 and autistic (high-functioning), so I don't put a lot of faith in that.  I am going to send it in to Nintendo and hope for the best.  Poor kid, he waited so long to get one because they were out of stock, then he finally gets one and 4 days later it won't work!  I was also one of those moms who waited in line for hours for a Wii and never got one (guess I should have camped out!)  I am not too happy with Nintendo these days, although there isn't much I can do about it, since that's what the kids want.  Personally, I'm happy with my good old N64 space invaders!  (I grew up on Atari!)

Thanks again, everyone!

No, the orange light doesn't come on either now.  It did when I first started it charging this morning, but when I came home it was off and the power switch does nothing.  I guess I will send it in.  It just stinks!  Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Oh, and we did get a pack of the screen covers - our other son got his DS last November (before the weird shortage) for his birthday, and we discovered quickly how useful the screen cover is.

My son waited (and waited and waited...) for the DS to be in stock.  He finally got one this past Sunday.  It worked for 3 days, and now it won't turn on.  I tried charging it for 4+ hours, but no luck.  Of course, the Best Buy we got it from is now sold out of everything but pink.  They said bring it in to let the Geek Squad look at it, but someone told me that the GS is terrible and keeps your stuff for weeks just to tell you that they can't do anything.  We are just so frustrated.  Does anyone have any advice for us?  Has this happened to anyone else?
