People say that they can't make a MMORPG better than WoW (and I can't really deny it that's true) and I guess, due to old Diablo experience, Blizzard was the right company to achieve such a feat. However, every now and then, there are people crying about the unbalance in WoW in the forums. A whine consists of 3 basic steps:
Step 1: You start your post saying that it's not a whine, you can even say that in the topic title, since no one will believe you because on the next 3 lines you will be whining, it's actually pointless but everyone does that. The reasons are far too complicated for my brain to understand, but hey, they're humans.
Step 2: You choose a class that is overpowered. Warlocks are a popular choice. Druids are now popular too due to immunity to most crowd control. However make sure you hate ONLY ONE class.
Step 3: At last, you can finally tell the flaws of your character.
Of course you can be intelligent and skip the first two steps, like I'm going to do here since blizzard has banned me from the forums for something I didn't do (I suspect a keylogger is involved).
Yes, if you want to resume it, this is a whine, and I'm fine with you thinking that it is. However I will talk about the good things Warriors have too.
I've always been a Warrior for many reasons, first, they are not bloody cowards and they don't need ridiculous bubbles, heals, pets or anything else to kick someone's ass. No, our 500 kg massive axe is more than enough to make your sorry ass go cry in tears if we're close to you. But even though all of that sounds awesome, if you want to be a good warrior, prepare to suffer. Blizzard says Warriors are amazing against more than one enemy, well that's actually true but that only happens on the last 10 levels since in all those before 60 you will cry your eyes out when aggroing more than one enemy because all you can do is Demoralizing Shout. Thunder Clap and spam Cleave. Which it has a 80% chance of you ending dead. Furthermore, you are more gear dependant than any other class in the game and you will cry more because Warriors suck in PvP until 60 and you will be ganked by everyone with a red name that is not a NPC (that's basically why Warrior twinks are more rare than a worm inside a nut). But the rewards at 70 are more than enough for the hard leveling path of the Warrior. In PvP, Warriors are pretty good as long as you have a healer. If you don't have a healer, warriors can own someone's ass but for that you need mastery, which is not a easy job. I would say you will be easily killed by a large amount of classes, including Affliction Warlocks, Retribution Paladins, Frost Mages and Shadow Priests. However (excluding Shadow Priest because they are **** impossible to kill) you still have a pretty good chance against them. WoW community always had a large cliché about Frost Mages and Warriors. They say that a Frostmage is a Warrior's worst nightmare. Blizzard try to correct this by giving Warriors an ability called Spell Reflection, which literally sends back the spell to the mage casting it (or any other class) but the flaw about that skill is that a blue shield appears above the head of the Warrior. If Blizzard's idea was to put a **** neon sign saying DON'T CAST A SPELL BECAUSE YOU WILL GET OWNED in pretty colors above a Warrior's head, well they made it, and that opens for less chance against mages because now they can polymorph themselves to regain all the health they had lost... But actually I never saw something "overpowered" on the mages against us apart from their pet, but since I'm here to talk about warriors and not mages, let's move on. Paladins, they're a nightmare, but they're possible to kill. I personally think Paladins are harder to kill than Mages as a Warrior, because they actually leave up to no choice but to fight to the death and have a great honourable death when I would rather prefer having their bloody head, but they are killable, and to kill them, you must hit and run, stay behind them, keep Rend on them, and keep then disarmed when in close combat (I'm talking about Retridins of course) and with luck, you will outlast them, since a Paladin with no mana is a Paladin with a few moments of life left. The only thing left is Shadow Priests and oh my fricking god they are IMPOSSIBLE to kill... All they have to do is Power Word: Shield and Mind Flay, so enjoy being raped while you will be powerless to respond and so pissed off that all you want to do is /dance. But enough PvP, let's talk about PvE, where warriors truly shine nowadays. Apart from being capable of being the best boss tanks in the game, Warriors have a talent tree called Fury, which is mostly used for DPS in raids. Since everyone already knows how awesome Protection Warriors are in PvE, I will talk about Fury. Fury Warriors are a good combination of utility and damage, as they can increase everyone's attack power in a short amount of time, lower the mobs' attack speed and attack power and increasing everyone's health. Furthermore, Warriors have a skill which rocks in both PvP and PvE called Execute. Execute is the skill that can deal more damage and its crazy critical hits are very mocked in various useless youtube videos about level 1 gnomes critting "over 9000"... But in order to use Execute the target's health must be below 20% and even though that is kick ass in PvE, in PvP is so ridiculous that's like playing with a opponent with 20% health handicap, but either way, warriors still have a good chance of killing an opponent without even touching in Execute (yeah I'm talking about PvP again). Anyways, Warriors in WotLK will have serious changes and for good. In conclusion all I have to ask Blizzard is to make our leveling less painful, our Fury tree more usable in PvP (because most classes have 2 trees good in PvP, Druids have Balance/Feral, Warlocks have Demo/Affli, Paladins have Holy/Retri, anyway you get the point), because it's instantly "If you're not arms based you die" in PvP nowadays, I'm not a fury lover though, but lots of people like the gameplay of it, and it should be more PvP appropriate. Last but not least, a travelling skill from levels 1-30, because Charging/Hamstringing a mob will fail for time to time, and you need mobs to do it.
But I don't know if it's unhealthy paranoia that all WoW players share, I thinkWarriors are currently the most underpowered class in PvP just like any other player thinks their class is the worst, of course there was always the Druids and they had no attention at all in PvP but now Blizzard has changed them so much that they're so bloody overpowered that the whine meter had a boost from whining Druids to whining everything-that's-not-a-druid but everyone knows they needed changes and fast. But yes, I must have a more human side because of this paranoia... After all I'm still a human, even though that's no excuse to anything.
So, without nothing else to say, wish you all a fun game!
