Bungie.nets update
by SatanicOrgy on Comments
I found this on Bungie.net forums. If you haven't noticed there is a new feature in the game viewer. --This is off there news archive on home page.
On Monday March 14th at 10:00 AM Pacific time, bungie.net will be offline for database maintenance. This downtime could last several hours. When the system comes back, you'll find nothing has changed.
Yeah, that's right, nothing. Well, almost nothing. A few performance improvements are in there. The only change for you guys will be in your Halo 2 stats. Previously, if you played a Halo 2 game, and the stats upload to our servers got corrupted somehow, the game never showed up. Now, we'll show you the game, just not any of the stats (like who won). Not much, but it should help explain why some games were never showing up on bungie.net.
If you haven't seen it when your looking at a "corrupted" game its all greyd out and everything is N/A. And it says This game's data is unavailable.
Stats for this game are unavailable, due to inconsistent or failed reporting of the game results by the players in this game.
Then I found this post.
" there is a way to stop stand by.....
When you are stand by'ed, if u and every one on ur team quits WHILE BEING STANDBY'ED... NOT AFTER, then the connection is severed on both sides, you dont win the game, andits not t tie ither, its not counted AT ALL.... in ur games list.... it shows up faded grey, i stoped 6 today "
A bungie developer replied to the post.
"Unfortunately, this doesn't work as you think. All you do is make the bungie.net stats list as unreliable (which it might have anyway due to the standbying). You leaving the game causes the host to migrate to one of them, who figures out there is nobody left on the other team and declares a win. Xbox Live then records a loss for your team, a win for them, and bungie.net will report it as such - it just will show up as "unreliable" in the game text.
The system only gives a better view into what is going on - and it will eventually assist in punishing cheaters, after the autoupdate. But, just because a game is marked as "unreliable" doesn't mean Xbox Live never got scores - the systems on Xbox Live and bungie.net are quite seperate"
So now there is a way to see games you where some one, was cheating.http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=2617434
Bungie weekly update
by SatanicOrgy on Comments
In this weeks update Frankie said the next play-list update will be w/the D/C. Also reference was made about a patch---
"Some guys asked,
What are you guys doing to fix cheating?
Two things. One is technical and we've been working on it basically since launch. That technical fix is being tested and tested and tested. That process is ongoing and not as far away as you'd think...."
I would imagine the patch would come with the D/C and play-list update. No far away sounds good to me, for D/C.
Also last week (I think last week) they said in the weekly update they're considering a 2 vs 2 match made game-type. I would really like a 2 vs 2 but never thought about it un-till they mentioned it.
Comments or after thoughts pls post.
"Flop"
by SatanicOrgy on Comments
I can't tell you how much that word bothers me. It's not really the word, just the context it is used in. Calling a game like Fable a flop sound pretty dumb to me. So it only got an 8.5 or something. Since when was that bad ? A score of 7 is still a potentially good game, if you like the genre its in. People like this is what drags the industry down. Expecting way to much, and not taking notice of what great games we have to chose from. If a game sells well, I (personally) can't see how it's a flop.
Name some overrated bands..

*Please notice* ---If you read this add something to comments, just so I know if I should continue using this feature or not
Was the name of a thread on the gamespot forums today. The original poster put Tool in this list. I quickly realized I could not follow the posting rules on this one, so, I posted not. First, if anything Tool is underrated. There one of my Favorite bands of all time (like you couldn't tell). From Opiate, Undertow, Anemia, and on. Personally, I don't think he could appreciate what a real band sounds like. Not some carbon copy me too band. Plus there live show is great.
Fiddlecub I usually agree with most of your opinions, but Mettalica isn't overrated. I don't like there new stuff at all, but they still do a great show live. Plus during there prime (only up to the black album) everyone loved them. Ride the lightning, Master of puppets, and the black album are all great.
