I would really want Gamespot to explain how is Gone Home better than Bioshock Infinite? In which aspect is it better? Story? Graphics? Atmosphere? Gameplay? Themes? Delivery?

In every one of the above, Bioshock Infinite should be the clear winner. Well, if you wanna be objective, that is...

@Jacanuk @jderin It's probably overrated, but then again, there are not many "games" like it, so it can be labeled as "innovative" and given a high score, deservedly or not.

@phoenix5352 It's not graphics and good parts that make a game, but the overall experience. A 7.5 is really fair.

Why did the reviewer not speak a word about the frustratingly much-to-easily-triggered obnoxious crush cinematics? Those, along with the cheating behavior of the cops, is what breaks this game.

REVIEWER, PLEASE:

Games do all sorts of objectionable stuff without getting their scores lowered, you know, the usual stuff: killing lots and lots of people, blowing brains out, setting people on fire, chopping heads off, and possibly worse. Why would mysoginism all of a sudden become an issue to lower the score of a game? It's ridiculous.

We read game reviews because we want objectivity. Otherwise we would just browse youtube or ask a friend. That objectivity is your most valuable asset, lose that, and you become of no use to your target customer.

I don't condone the verbal abuse, but the gamer backlash by itself is a correct and deserved reaction. Pay some more attention to it. Masses are sometimes right.
