I've started getting into comic books recently too. Some of my favorites so far that you can just jump into and get a solid story without having to wait for new issues are:

Y - The Last Man - Original post apocalyptic story about the last man on Earth living in an all female world. Funny but also emotional at times; the last issue made me cry. Series is complete at 60 issues.

American Vampire - Not your typical vampire story. Centers around a vampire named Skinner Sweet who is the first of a new species of vampire. Spans from the 1850's to the 1950's with real world history being mixed into the story. Currently at 33 issues with two 5 issue mini-series that tie into the main story.

The Walking Dead - Zombie apocalypse. Need I say more? Started reading it because I like the show and I wasn't dissapointed. Good thing about the comic is you get more character development than the show and it seems the show is more of an alternate version, so reading the comic won't necessarily spoil everything. Currently at 105! issues.

Powers - My favorite of the bunch. Set in a world where super powers are common and accepted by society. Heroes and villians are like our celebrities. The main characters are two homicide detectives who specialize in power related killings. But there's so much more to this series that that. The story is a deep, spanning, interconnected masterpiece. Currently at 78 issues across 3 volumes.

The Unwritten - I'm reading this series right now and it's pretty good. Similar style to Y - The Last Man, centers around the secret world of classic, famous literature and how it's more powerful than we think. Currently at 40? issues and set to wrap up soon I think.

It would be foolish to ignore a great setting, like a post apocalyptic zombieworld, because other games have wasted and exploited it.

Think of the games we wouldn't have if developers thought like this. The medieval-fantasy setting has been used to death, but that didn't stop Skyrim from being the generally accepted GotY. Nor did it stop The Witcher 2 and Dark Souls from being great games in the same year.

Over saturation isn't the problem. Lack of effort and creativity within these zombie themed games is. Most companies would rather sell the idea of zombies than use them as a starting point for a great game.

Hate to break it to you, but you have ebola. Your organs should liquify within 48 hours. My advice is contact Cuba Gooding Jr. and hope he can find the monkey that transfered it to you in time.

I think most would agree that GTA4 was a step backwards for the series. San Andreas raised the bar, GTA4 lowered it. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, it just didn't meet expectations.

Arkham City and Dark Souls would be my front runners. These are the types of games that should be encouraged and awarded, opposed to recycled bugfests like Skyrim. I'll give the edge to Arkham City since it was pretty much flawless from a technical perspective, while Dark Souls did have fps problems in certain areas (hey Blighttown).

The first Infamous didn't deserve a 9. It was all action, little substance. That being said the action was great and unless it was drastically changed for InFamous 2, it shouldn't be reduced to a 7.5 score. The reviewer seemed to have problems with things he found acceptable in the first game.

My favorite quote of the review - "During certain story sequences, you have the choice to complete the mission in either a good manner or a bad one. Unlike in InFamous, in which evil and pure were sometimes indistinguishable, your options here are entirely binary."

Evil and pure were blatantly distinguishable in InFamous. To the point were certain side missions were labeled " Evil" or "Good". If you didn't have a problem with it then, you have no reason to have a problem now.

[QUOTE="Jerryismyname"][QUOTE="junglist101"]Anonymous claims they weren't responsible for the info theft. There original beef with sony was justified. Sony had no right to obtain the ip addresses of the people who visited the site of geohotz to learn about the ps3 hack. What if you were just curious and checked out the site and next thing you know your in legal trouble. I honestly believe they had nothing to do with the info heist. If you research them a bit some of there causes are good ones.junglist101
Oh yeah? Like what? All I can see is a bunch of youth to middle aged white bigots who also have a beef with scientologists for some reason. Probably because they are Christians.

If you think scientology and christianity are the same then I think your post has lost all credibility.

Is scientology really that different from christianity? They're both based on a ridiculous, fictional story. They both have blatant alterior motives (money, power, control). The only difference is christianity has had more time to fine tune it's b.s. and build a following. To be honest, I'd be more likely to follow a religion based on science than one based on a magical bearded guy. Scientology just needs to make it's story more acceptable to the masses. As for the anti Sony hackers, I'll vote for basement dwelling thieves I guess. What's wrong with basement dwelling btw? It's cooler down there, am I right?

Still my favorite Square rpg, probably my favorite rpg period. Why it isn't on PSN by now is a mystery to me. At the very least it should have been up after FF 7, 8, 9.

I have no problem with GOW "copycats" as long as they're good. I honestly wasn't impressed by Darksiders or Dante's Inferno. On the other hand, I consider Bayonetta to be the reigning champ in this genre. I hope GOW 3 can reclaim the title, but I do have my doubts.
