Ace Attorney... from the beginning
by Scytmo on Comments
Having bought my DS for "Professor Layton and the Curious Village", a was keen to try other point and click adventure/puzzle games. Looking at the reviews, the Ace Attorney series seemed like they'd be a unique kind of puzzle solving. I like to play game series through from the start (I'm the same with book series), so I managed to track down a good condition copy of the first Ace Attorney game. It's excellent. As some of the user reviews on this site mention, there's not much replayability (once you've solved the case, there's not much reason to play through again). Also, while the game pretends to give you options at certain points (whether or not to continue to press a witness), the game guides you back to the "correct" choice if you pick the wrong one initially. This shouldn't be seen so much as a game but as a fine piece of interactive fiction. And the "find the contradiction" puzzle solving is a breath of fresh air. I've bought "Justice for All", and I'm looking forward to playing the rest of them!
