2013 NFL Season Predictions

Here are my predictions for this season (bolded are in the playoffs)

AFC East:

  1. Patriots
  2. Dolphins
  3. Bills
  4. Jets

Patriots have this division easily even with the lack of weapons for Brady.

AFC North:

  1. Ravens
  2. Bengals
  3. Browns
  4. Steelers

I have the Ravens winning this division by default but only because I'm not sold on the other teams in that division.

AFC South:

  1. Texans
  2. Colts
  3. Titans
  4. Jaguars

Texans win it because of that defense.

AFC West:

  1. Broncos
  2. Chiefs
  3. Chargers
  4. Raiders

Broncos should have this divison easily.

NFC East:

  1. Redskins
  2. Giants
  3. Cowboys
  4. Eagles

Redskins will have a better defense this year. only question is Qb but even if RG3 doesn't play, Kirk Cousins should do well enough to win.

NFC North:

  1. Packers
  2. Bears
  3. Lions
  4. Vikings

I can see any of these teams win that divison but the Packers have the best Qb in that division.

NFC South:

  1. Falcons
  2. Panthers
  3. Saints
  4. Buccaneers

Falcons have a more complete team. Saints defense is still suspect. Panthers could do well depending on Cam Newton and the Panthers running game. Bucs could win that division but I'm not sold on Josh Freeman.

NFC West:

  1. 49ers
  2. Seahawks
  3. Rams
  4. Cardinals

Tough division but I'll go with the 49ers since I think they will win more road games then the Seahawks. It should be fun to watch these teams play against each other.

SB predictions: 49ers vs. Broncos. 49ers win the SB.

That being said go Redskins:

My First DS game and the Summer Sales

1. So my first DS game is:

tetris ds

I love tetris especially on handhelds and this version is a lot of fun. :)

I plan on getting more DS games but right now I have a pretty huge backlog.

2. Steam and GOG sales

So from the sale I bought:

  • Audiosurf
  • Fallout
  • Fallout 2
  • COD4: Modern Warfare
  • Trine
  • Reccettear: An Item Shop's Tale
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

Int toat about $30. I already beat COD4 and had fun with it. Adudiosurf is also a lot of fun. Haven't played too much of the other games yet. I am trying to finish FFXII.

DS Lite and other Games

DS Lite

So I got a Crimson/Black DS Lite last weekend randomly. I had money and knew about the price drop so I decided to get one since I do already have some GBA games and I do not have a handheld besides my Gameboy player.

I don't have any DS games yet but I plan to get Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon or The World Ends With You first.

As for what I've played since my last blog, it has been mostly old PS2 games from nearly 10 years ago:

Fragile Dreams (Wii) - Loved it even though it was flaws in some areas. The art and music are superb and I did enjoy the story. Plus it had great atmosphere and the Japanese dub as well.

Final Fantasy X (PS2) - I have mixed feelings about this game. I liked the battle system and the grid system was not so bad. The art and music are brilliant but I hated most of the character designs. Everything else I did not like but at least the bosses were a blast for the most part.

Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) - I liked the gameplay, music and overall production values. Boss fights were good too. I did not like the story and some of the codec scenes were boring.

Devil May Cry (PS2) - First time I played a DMC game and I was hooked. It's a balst to play and want to try out the third one later this summer.

Shining Force II (Part of the Sega Genesis Collection on Steam) - Easily one of my favorite sequels in gaming. I loved the first game so it is no surprise that the second one would easily be another favorite of mine.

As for my backlog, it is mostly RPGs:

Chrono Trigger (Wii VC)
Final Fantasy XII
Xenosaga Episode I
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Jak and Daxter
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (PC)
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC)
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
F.E.A.R.
Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC)

I will be playing FFXII next and then Chrono Trigger.

2 Years at GS, Level 40, and Games

It has been 2 years since I became a user at Gamespot. I met many cool and interesting users here. In addition, I have been level 40 for a couple days now lol. :P

1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

COP

COP is an excellent sequel and one of my favorite games of last year. It actually has less technical issues then Shadow of Chernobyl while maintaining that atmosphere. In addition, it has a more interesting story while at the same time, does not feel as if it is SOC 2. I loved how non-linear the game is at the start. I love how you can upgrade weapons and armor. I love how the game is not as impossible because it is actually fewer glitches compared to the many glitches from SOC. Lastly, I literally was sucked in to this game. It takes a while to get used to it but once you do, it is fun and challenging.

Overall, I do think it is the better game then SOC but I do think SOC is the more memorable out of the two. The main reasons are the endings for both games. SOC ending is more memorable and epic compared to COP ending. However, both have made S.T.A.L.K.E.R. one of my favorite new IPs this generation of gaming.

2. Far Cry

Far Cry

Far Cry is just a blast to play. The game never gets boring. For a 2004 game, the graphics are still impressive especially the water effects. The enemies A.I. can be inconsistent and some parts of the game a re a little outdated compared to today's FPS titles. However, the game is lengthy and has many levels. Anyways, the levels varied. Some were huge but ultimately the objective is to get to point B. However, there are a couple ways to get there since there are many enemies with lots of guns. Other levels were the typical corridor type where it is linear. The vehicles were fun to use. They have there annoyances but they were not a pain to use.

Only issues I had with Far Cry were that the story was bad but in a good way. The game did not take itself too seriously. Another issue was using the mouse scroll can freeze the game. It can get annoying especially since I use it a lot in other games. However, I would like to know how they could mess up on Far Cry 2 after reading posts about how much that game is bad.

I recommend both games to those that love FPS on the PC.

3. Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and My Backlog

S&P 2

I am on Spring Break right now. The only new game I bought since the steam sale during the last holiday season is Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. So far, it is really fun and addicting. It is a lot better then the first one especially since I played it on the Virtual Console with the Gamecube controller and not the N64 controller. After that, I will probably go back to SMT Nocturne, Morrowind or start on F.E.A.R.

My backlog:

  • Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
  • F.E.A.R. (PC)
  • Amnesia: The Dark Descent
  • Super Meat Boy (PC)
  • Bioshock (PC)
  • Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (PC)
  • Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC)
  • Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC)
  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Final Fanatsy XII
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
  • 18 results
