It has been 2 years since I became a user at Gamespot. I met many cool and interesting users here. In addition, I have been level 40 for a couple days now lol. :P
1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

COP is an excellent sequel and one of my favorite games of last year. It actually has less technical issues then Shadow of Chernobyl while maintaining that atmosphere. In addition, it has a more interesting story while at the same time, does not feel as if it is SOC 2. I loved how non-linear the game is at the start. I love how you can upgrade weapons and armor. I love how the game is not as impossible because it is actually fewer glitches compared to the many glitches from SOC. Lastly, I literally was sucked in to this game. It takes a while to get used to it but once you do, it is fun and challenging.
Overall, I do think it is the better game then SOC but I do think SOC is the more memorable out of the two. The main reasons are the endings for both games. SOC ending is more memorable and epic compared to COP ending. However, both have made S.T.A.L.K.E.R. one of my favorite new IPs this generation of gaming.
2. Far Cry

Far Cry is just a blast to play. The game never gets boring. For a 2004 game, the graphics are still impressive especially the water effects. The enemies A.I. can be inconsistent and some parts of the game a re a little outdated compared to today's FPS titles. However, the game is lengthy and has many levels. Anyways, the levels varied. Some were huge but ultimately the objective is to get to point B. However, there are a couple ways to get there since there are many enemies with lots of guns. Other levels were the typical corridor type where it is linear. The vehicles were fun to use. They have there annoyances but they were not a pain to use.
Only issues I had with Far Cry were that the story was bad but in a good way. The game did not take itself too seriously. Another issue was using the mouse scroll can freeze the game. It can get annoying especially since I use it a lot in other games. However, I would like to know how they could mess up on Far Cry 2 after reading posts about how much that game is bad.
I recommend both games to those that love FPS on the PC.
3. Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and My Backlog

I am on Spring Break right now. The only new game I bought since the steam sale during the last holiday season is Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. So far, it is really fun and addicting. It is a lot better then the first one especially since I played it on the Virtual Console with the Gamecube controller and not the N64 controller. After that, I will probably go back to SMT Nocturne, Morrowind or start on F.E.A.R.
My backlog:
- Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
- F.E.A.R. (PC)
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- Super Meat Boy (PC)
- Bioshock (PC)
- Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (PC)
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC)
- Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC)
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Final Fantasy X
- Final Fanatsy XII
- Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
