Yeah today, my high school was on fire for the 11th-ish time this year. People are trying to desperately burn it down. All the fires have been arson so far... and people are pulling the fire alarms on purpose too as a joke. So, yeah half the school was filled with smoke and watered down. Heres what i know if you care. I was in my 3rd Period/Hour class, which was weight training, and the alarms went off. We went outside thinking it was a drill. the 20 of us were all alone at the back of the school sittin there throwin rocks at each other having a little fun. After 30 min. of the alarm being on we determined someone pulled the alarm. After an hour, we all guessed that there was a fire indeed. So after another 30 mins an administrator came around the school looking for us cause we werent with the rest of the school in the south part. We were on the complete opposite end. She brought us over to the to the rest of the group and on the way i saw the concourse. It had tons of firefighters streeming in and out and 3 of em holding a hose and spraying into the fire from outside. It was that bad. Black smoke was coming out like crazy. It smelled like the fourth of july times 8. Its that distinct smell of something blowing up or burning. The next thing i saw was an old lady who teaches at our school; she was standing away from the school behind a tree. A differemt administrator was talking to her and she was convinced she was going to die. She was telling him that she had to stay at the tree cause she wouldn't make it to the street if she had to go. She was telling him and another teacher that she would surely die. That was something that disturbed me to the core. After that we headed to the front of the school which was pretty far down, since our school is long horizontally. When we got to the front everyone was sitting or standing watching the fire trucks stream in and out and police come in and out. People were trying to gain some enlightenment of what had occurred and who set the fire. Others knew nothing. I am fortunate that I knew what happened, ignorance sucks. So i, like the 20 of us ended up sitting out side for roughly 3 hours in our gym clothes. Our clothes were in the gym lockers and we couldnt go in yet until 12:00. We had to run around the building to get down to the gyms. Before we got to the East Gym, we saw water seeping out of the ground. Bad sign. It was coming from the school. That means that there was water damage to the school. But, we walked inside and everyone was freaking out. When we got to the coaches offices/ gyms, it was terrible - half the school was locked down. Water was everywhere and the place was smokey. I remember grabbing my cell phone out of my jeans pocket and calling my mom to come get my sister and i. Then i called my best friend who was apparently on the other side of the building. He didn't answer. So i called my girlfriend, who i will probably breakup with later today, to see if she was ok and was safe. I did so because im a nice guy and still want to be friends. But, her phone was off. So, i hunted my sister down and told her to come with me because we're going home.... so yeah. Exciting/tragic day.
