Hello there, and welcome to my newest blog. I used to do these regularly but stopped awhile back. I'd **** about fanboys while sounding strikingly similer to one myself. But those days are behind me. The console war is still raging, but theres no clear victor anymore. I'd say it was the 360 a year ago, now the PS3 is finally coming into its own as a decent platform for playing games. The Wii is falling flat in every department but we all saw that coming anyway. It cant compete with the big three anymore, and yes I'm putting PC gaming in the 3. Why not? Nintendo sure dosn't fit there anymore.

But thats not what this post is about. I've recently but head over heels in love with this new PC MMO, Aion. Well not new, its been out for just under 9 months in the Asian market, started in Korea. I know I know, most of thos Korean MMOs are pretty terrible, but this one is actually a diamond in the rough, trust me. Its so far the most amazing thing I've ever gotten to play. Granted my experiance with it was brief, it was new and refreashing, but at the same time its pretty famillier. Its interface is ripped right outta WoW. Thats by no means a bad thing, the inteface from WoW is what made it so accessable. It was the whole reason you didnt need a tutorial to play the game. GregK mentioned this in his review of WoW many years back. The similarities go a bit furthor but we'll stop the comparison there, this is about Aion not WoW.

Aion is pretty, and thats an understatment. The game is absolutly stunning. I played AoC for a bit and dispite that games resource hogging nature it dosnt look nearly as polished or artsy as this game does. It runs on CryEngine 1, the engine that powered FarCry. I actually heard about this game through a mistake. A friend of mine asked me "Hey, have you heard about that new mmo that RUNS ON THE CRYSIS ENGINE?". I was blown away, I built my PC specificlly to play Crysis so ofcourse I was excited. I started looking into it. Crysis runs on CryEngine 2, not 1, so this dosn't run on that engine. And it certianly dosn't look likee Crysis, but thats not a bad thing. Crysis while beautifull, lacked an artsy feel to call its own, and while I wouldnt say Aion is the only game to pull off the high fantasy setting, its doing it better then any other game, and pushing some extream polygons while doing so.

Overall it feels like FIna Fantasy XI, but better in every aspect. Which is good, because I loved FFXI, but couldnt put the time into it that it demands out of any good player. This isn't a review, I havn't been able to play the game enough to give a review for it yet. Suffice it to say it has the potential to be the NEXT BIG THING. EverQuest and World of Warcraft had their turns, its Aion's now. And I think it can, and possibly will take that spotlight.

Hey guy's, long time no blog...or some **** like that. Those of you that know me know that I loath fanboys, of all kinds. But it seems as if al of this bull**** that was before, is getting worse. I don't even want to get into it. Instead, I'd like to discuss video game exclusives. 

There's been alot of talk, about this or that being or not being exclusive to any one console, and the importance of that. How game's like Halo and MGS and Mario are going to push consoles. I agree that exclusivity is important, but it is only outwardly important to the companies with their names on the mechine. I personally would like it if all true gamer's could enjoy Halo 3, or MGS4 or even the new Mario, I don't care wich console you'r playing it on, as lng as your enjoying it. ut to be honost, the annoying fanboy posers would start yelling about wich version of Halo 3 is better, or wich MGS4 looks nicer...it would be even worse. Exclusivity basicly screws the consumer, but I'd rather some people get left out then having the fanboy BULL**** we have to endure now, grow to something even worse.

Here's hoping that one day, all the fanboys in the world will get cancer and die...if only... 

  

I'm pretty much through with the forums on GS and GF. How many times have I been suspended by Sony fanboys for telling the truth, and once for defending them, where as thanks, they get me suspended again! I'm sorry Sony failed to accomplish their goal! I'm sorry there's only 2 decent games for your console. I'm sorry its not as user friendly or slick as the 360. None of that is my fault! I'm sorry your so desperate to make Sony sound great that you'd be willing to lie through your teeth and then defend it as though it were congressional mandate or some **** The FACTS are these. The PS3 was a failed experiment. The UI is really dull, and very un-user friendly. The lack of decent software is also very depressing. The PSN pales in comparison to XBL. And as fun as Resistance is, I essentially paid 600 bucks to play it, and Ridge Racer, the only two decent titles out there, unacceptable. There are thousands of fanboys that will tell me I'm wrong, the the PS3 is the greatest console to ever be realised, and others that will try to cover up their fanboyishness by telling me its ONE of the greatest, it isn't, not as is, I'm sorry. Perhaps through updates to the firmware, it can become something better, but right now, its not all that great. Not to mention, my original console was defective, and Sony refused to offer any kind of customer support, even though I was under warranty.

I really do enjoy Resistance, it's probably the greatest FPS to come out last year, but good software does NOT make up for broken, buggy and unfriendly hardware. I own all three next gen consoles, I know how they all handle, and play, and feel. Sony has some great stuff inside their box, but the firmware that runs it is broken. If you don't believe me, try to play a PS1 game on the PS3. Its unbelievable how much they messed the backwards compatibility up. The 360 got bashed at release because it wasn't 100% backwards compatible, well the PS3 is much, MUCH worse. The XBOX games the 360 plays, all get unscaled with added anti-aliasing, the games look GREAT. Halo 2 looks like a next gen game on the 360. I tried to play FF12 on my PS3 and thought I was playing a PS1 game, you can only imagine what it was like when I put in Xenogears and Chrono Cross...Chrono Cross was unplayable, it was horrible. I had such high expectations for the PS3, but Sony could not come through. Regardless of whether or not you agree with me, the facts remain facts. Sony failed, and all of you are going down with it. This is what happens to fanboys...sorry guys. You'll all claim this is nonsense, that I'm a lemming or whatever their called, but I'm not. I am not at all, I simply pointed out the truth. For as powerful and as expensive as the PS3 is, it does NOT deliver the experience promised. It is NOT a wonderful magical console, its just an average game machine with one AMAZING game. That said, for as much as I hate the way its laid out and executed, I've played Resistance for more then 100 hours easy, its one of my favorite online FPS of all time, but the software cant carry the hardware if the hardware costs 600 bucks, and theirs one good game. Please Sony, fix this. I've been a PlayStation user since before most of the cows out there, and I REMEMBER the glory days of the PS1 and FF7...bring them back. Fix your mistake and bring back the experiences I loved growing up.

One of my FAVORITE Gears of War achivments, and Clerks referance. Well, I have my PS3, havn't played yet, but I have it...just thought I'd say that.

I look around and am once again bothered by all that I see. The gaming industry is dying...not finacialy, that can't happen now, but go to the system wars boards, 360 fanboys are crazy because Gears of War looks better then any PS3 launch game, and the PS3 fanboys are all angry that Resistence didn't get above a nine...there are certian truths that gamers must realise. Its NOT the hardware, its the software that sells consoles, thats number one. I bought Gears of War, I've played and beaten Gears of War, I can say, without any doubt in my mind, that it is the highest quality title on the 360, and has been polished to near perfection. You can always tell wich games will be good or not. It comes down to polish and qaulity. Gears is an INCREDIBLE title, of Zelda and Halo quality. As gamers, we should be rejoicing that a title of such amazing quality has been released, ofcourse you arn't but that because your simply a poser. Tomarrow I'll be picking up my PS3, and playing Resistence. I have no doubt that it will be a good game, a great game. But it dose NOT seem aspolished as Gears. I am not a fanboy, I have stated that before and people have argued, and lost. They said my first post was anti Sony, yeah...it was Anti everything and if you could single one company out and say that IT wa my focus, then your a fanboy and that post was for you


I don't know whats happening...is this the result of games like GTA, games that exist and get sold simply because of their extream content...what started all this nonsense...I dont understand...I need sleep...

What the hell is going on!? Whats wrong with this place! I've been here for a pretty long time, and never in all that time have the fanboys been this  depressing. In the PS3 board all they do is lie, **** and complain. And if you make a valid point that is in any way demeaning of they're precious Sony they mod you...it's **** insane. XBOX 360 boards the same way. Do people not know anything about hardware, period?! Am I the only true unbiased gamer left in the world today?! Everyone is so quick to fight and argue and defend their perferred console but none of them speak the truth. They know absolutly nothing, they just rant on and on untill they feel they've won, and they havn't, they can't. There posers leeching on our industry and ruining it for the 2 or 3 real gamers still left among us. We are a dying breed my friends, the gamers who care truly about the games and not the hardware are slowly falling out of existence. Being pushed into nothingness by the wave of human filth that now makes up most of what could be refered to as the NEW gaming industry...the sheeps, cows, lemmings, hermits, whatever they're called now, they are everywhere, and they will never be true gamers, they can't. its impossible for them to become us.

We are the ones who started it all. We are the best of the best, we are the unbiased, true, hardcore gameing audiance, and we are slowly ceasing to be. The world has lost the one and only truth of our industry, that the hardware, no matter what it is, is simply a means of playing games. Without games, the hardware becomes usless. I buy consoles as a means of playing and enjoying what I've grown up loving. I buy them all, and care not for the name attached to them. it's all about the games. This world sickens me, what happened to the people like me...where did we go? I look around and I see this false, pethetic console war going on. And theres nowhere to go to escape it. My people truly have fallen from grace, but I have no pity for the failed excuses for gamers and the posers out there, I have games to play and enjoy. And come November, I'll own every next gen console, like it should be. I truly hope the world wakes up oneday, and realises the mistakes that have been made. Because these are the saddest times in our industry, they truly are.
