Are you using a HD TV? Cause you will need to set your PS3 from default SD to HD by holding the power button on until u hear a second beep. Then you will see a picture or maybe the otherway around HD > SD. You may have laid your hand on the power button for a while without noticing or somethin while u were playing or perhaps some glitch? Is worth a try if your PS3 physically looks as if it's on.Dark_Highlander
Yes I do have an HDTV, but like I said, I never touched the back button... the thing just went off when I tried to turn it on using the front touch thing... Either way, it's not coming to life even if I flick the back button back and forth: it's as dead as dan quayle's brain!

First of all, thank you guys for trying to cheer me up :). And also thanks for giving me ideas... but still no response from mah' baby!
I was playing fallout 3 last night and I was only playing for about 5 mins ( I was at the end of the game ) And my PS3 reset itself, while I was still playing. This was the second time it did it and only while I was playing Fallout 3, ten minutes later it completly froze. I was able later to play for about two hours with no problems. These games that make your system freeze and lock up can't be good for the systems. I put 15 hours in other game with no probs , the same time I've owned Fallout.superlobo
Now that you mention it, my cousin's PS3 also died a week ago from playing the same copy of Fallout 3 that I was using :S... talk about though luck... and now the game is stuck inside my PS3

The only reason I know that the PS3 turns itself off is if it starts to overheat, but if it did it should have told you, I think. Either way, it's pretty hard to make your PS3 overheat unless it's in a closed area.Furi-Kun
Well... how was it supposed to advise me of it?? I didnt notice anything wrong with it, and I must say he was in a happily ventilated place :).

Guys, this is no joke, and I need help.

I was playing Fallout 3 just a few min. ago (I had been playing for like an hour maybe) and sudenly, my PS3 just shut itself down!

I was like "Oh what the hell" (there was no electric shortage or anything) and proceeded to turn it on again (the little red light was on). I tried with the controller but it was no use, so I got up to turn it up on the console. I worked for about 2 seconds then the thing went off completely!

Listen: I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but, as fellow PS3 users, you should know how worried I am. It's a 60GB NTSC model and I love it more than my wanky (well... not exactly, but CLOSE!). Should I send it to repairs? Or is there a way to fix it up? Please guy, I need an answer.

Excuse my english, it's not my native language :(.

i've been playing this game for 2 years on 3 different platforms and still haven't gotten bored of it WTFHAX? people who say it's bad are just those rebel goons who want to 'be different from the crowd.' i mean seriously, whats there NOT to love? you can do anything and be whatever you want, and you can beat midget elves to death with your bare fists. hell you can even play some wiffle ball with mudcrabs! GUNpoint_

well boyo, I liked everything except the level up system... I've been playing RPGS since the SNES days and this new "jump, fist, run, kill level up" was way too distracting for me... and I do know you could be at level 1 and finish the game... but lord knows that one of the core selling points in an RPG is to become obscenely powerful... that is MY point ^

Hello guys! Let me explain: so imagine yourself playing GTA IV (for example)... you have lots of weapons and ammo, a body protection thingie, the car that you cared so much to keep saving and using. Now you start to do some missions, and you don't save because you just don't want to go back to the safehouse... BUT SUDDENLY! Suddenly, one of your "friends" comes by, and he has never played GTA. So the first thought that comes to your mind is: "mmm... might as well save before I give this guy the controller, but if I do, he's gonna get pissed off because he's gonna think that I believe he's a moron... d@mn!!" And you pass the controller to your salivating friend, and before you know he throws your car to the water because HE thinks it's fun to waste cars like that, and also he gets caught by the police, which deprives you of all your weaponry... cool huh?

Has something like this happened to you before? Feel free to post your tale of woe =)

PD: YES, I know I should have saved, please don't call me idiotic, I know I got pwned by mysef.

Hey guys! I tried looking for this on the forums but Lord knows I couldn't find it. So well the thing is that I've had my PS3 for like 8 months now and everything's been like a honeymoon. However, every now and then when I turn it off it makes a noise that goes like "beep beep beep" and then turns off. It doesn't happen very often... actually I've heard it like four times, and I don't know if I should worry. Any kind of help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated =) .
