Its just how people are, they enjoy being drawn into things, such as games, movies, shows, and books. Take Uncharted 2 for example. You start out on a train hanging off of a cliff. More people are drawn to a faster paced more intense game. The same goes for movies, if an action movie doesn't start with a bang (sometimes literally) audiences are quickly bored and wish they didn't get talked into seeing the latest Hollywood garbage... IN 3D.
