Personally if the game is something I'm really into (rpg) then I'd want it to be 50 hrs+. Sometimes the story is so good, you just don't want it to ever end.
I usually spend 70+ hrs on an rpg.

I have played quite alot of games and I know I can't recall all the ones I have regretted. Lost Odessey is a yes and no. Story was ok, graphics awesome, but other then that I found it pretty boring. I thought the battle mode sucked too. Takes much too lng to load and I think it would of been nice that they showed videos for the dreams instead of reading about it. Much too long.
The other one I can recall being another yes/no regret is Final Fantasy 12. Once again the graphics was good and I loved the idea of NO stand base fighting, but the story was boring to me as well as most of the characters. There are others I have actually traded back in, but can't quite recall the names.
Well. I don't ever use the guides they sell in stores. I find that they do not have all the information needed to completing alot of stuff in games such as the Final Fantasies and Tales games. I do go online and look at FQAs and such. I usually don't look for hints/guides to beating a particular boss or anything. I mostly try looking for secret events/side quests in alot of the rpgs I play. Currently Tales of Vesperia. That game just has alot of side quests to do. Pretty overwhelming too especially with 36 recipes to master and what not. I def needed to go online and see how to obtain titles and what not. The game is still fairly new so not too many people had posted any guides resorting to the many side quests in the game.
Other then that...Its better to play the game first time without any hints/cheats and then go at it the second time to see what you missed using the hints and cheats.
Just signed up today on this after a long search of needed hints/guides of Tales of Vesperia. Pretty much at the end, but was curious about the grade shop at the end of the game. Came across here and decided to sign up. Now on to the subject lol. I have been a huge gamer since I could play any console. Mario was of course the first game to trigger my motivation into playing these games, but it was the PS1 and the game Final Fantasy 7 that made me addicted to rpgs. As soon as a new rpg comes out (as long as I hear good things about it or in relations to what I like)...I go out and buy it. I play for hrs on end whenever I have a day off from work.
I just like the idea of getting out of touch with reality. Don't care that those that aren't addicted or don't play games think its a waste of time. It truly isn't. Everything you do in life is time consuming. From work, to feasting, to sleeping.
