Cheap Microsoft Peripherals...

Microsoft needs to understand that there are games (like me), who may or may not take their frustration of games out on their poor controllers (like me). When you come across someone (in DOA4) who uses the same combo over and over (and over and over and over and over), and no matter how many times you try to block or counter and you can't, it must be the controllers fault. Well in this case it was. My X button somehow got stuck pressed in. I came to realize this as I pressed it and it wouldn't press. So I proceeded to press the controller against my apartment floor. Which proceeded to produce a small crack along the left side. I suppose I could cram it back together and tape it up, should work fine. But still. When are they going to make a controller using the same material they make the airplane black boxes from? I mean really...

Hooray For Censorship!

Well it appears I just had my first forum post hauled away by the internet speech police because it was considered 'flaming'. Please. If I wanted to flame forum uses, I could have done way worse. And the idiot who started the thread in the first place was clealy asking for it. Either by making up something stupid and pinning it on an unwitting friend, or if the friend truely was that stupid, by associating with the kid in the first place. I think it had something to do with the Playstation 3, and how someone either heard a rumor, or read an article, that Halo was coming to the next-gen Sony system. Either way, they deserved it. But someone disagreed and alas, my poor, defenseless post was quietly swept aside and put down by a couple of 9mm rounds to the back of the head. Oh well. Welcome to the Intraweb. Down with Free Speech!

Video Game Music

Stop me if I'm wrong, but has video game music changed in the last little while? Sure, a good majority of games still have original soundtracks, but more and more games are licensing music from actual bands, case in point are games like EVERY OTHER EA GAME made within the last few years. Not that this is a bad thing. There are several songs I have tracked down from games, which I then proceeded to buy the CD on which the song came from and was pleasantly surprised by other offerings from said artist.

But original soundtracks have come a long way too. I have been with people who mute the TV in favor of a stereo or some other form of background music. But gaming music is actually pleasing now, and adds a feel to the game. While some gamers rely solely on graphics, others on storyline, I prefer the full package. Graphics, plot, music/sound effects, etc. Games just aren't a waste of time anymore. They are an audio and visual experience like no other.
