The problem anymore with RPG's in general is that companies are so busy trying to draw in new players with easy game play, controls, and a not-very-complex storyline, that they forget about the one's who enjoy the more realistic, complicated style more prevalent in the older games... back when RPG actually meant something. ;) I enjoyed Oblivion simply because is was a game that I could cut through in a quick amount of time with very little effort. Great stress relief. Problem is, is that it's beyond tedious for a serious play. :( The graphics (naturally) were a step-up from Morrowind, but I half felt like the slow kid in class playing it. Hopefully Bethesda got it together for Skyrim, but I doubt it so much that I've decided to wait a few months before I buy it - if I decide to in the first place. It's a little depressing that a company that started out so well (on the whole) could manage to nail themselves to the wall with so little effort. Even so, the sheer amount of work, and game-playability for the average person, along with the action that was put into it will probably win in GOTY. I don't think that anyone can argue that there wasn't a lot of time put into making it, even if they skipped out on some factors.
