Burned out

alright, I'm getting kind of sick of these forums, I surf them all the time, and always find the same stupid topics, so I'm going to take a break from them, it will probably be all of September, maybe only a few weeks.

Review for The Proffesional (or Leon, depending on the version)

I just watched this movie, which stars Gary Oldman (always fantastic), Jean Reno (also fantastic), and Natalie Portman in her movie debut (at the age of thirteen no less).
This is a movie about a hitman (Reno) who lives almost entirely for his work, which he does without feeling, until one day he rescues a young girl (Portman), who he trains to be a hitman, and they start to form a relationship which should be kind of creepy, but isn't, because of the skill of the actors and director/writer (Luc Besson - Fifth Element, La Femme Nakita).
The movie has a few very well done action sequences, and a lot of well written and directed (not to mention acted) scenes showing the aspects of Leon and Mathilda's relationship.
While not necessarily and Ideal time wasting movie, it was a very good movie, and I would definatly recommend it to pretty much anyone.

PS, I want to mention that Natalie Portman, at the age of 13, in her first movie, is still a better actress than teenage starlets nowadays (Alba, Biel, Gellar, etc)

Review for Talladega Nights

So I went to see Talladega Nights last night expecting the usual Will Ferrel movie, stupid, shameless, with a few cheap laughs here and there.
What I got was a movie full of stupid, yet absolutly hilarious, jokes, that went to all possible lengths to mock rednecks and other stereotypical NASCAR fans.
Not only that, but the driving sequences were surprisingly good for a stupid comedy.
All in all, I would say that it is an ideal summer movie to see with friends, it has no redeeming value, but it's funny, and for my ten bucks, that's not a bad thing.

Talladega Nights

Just got home from Talladega Nights (fantastic, may review it tommorow)..of course, I need to get up for work in six hours...****

well than ****

so I got home from work, and decided to play a little GTA 3, Turn on my TV, and all I see is a bigass field of red. Seems the color tubes died. Granted, their are other tvs in the house, and worse things could have happened, but I don't really want to spend a bunch of money on a new tv right now...sigh.

The worst part is that means I can't play any GTA 3

Just For Laughs

woo! Went to Montreal on Thursday for Just For Laughs, had a kick ass time, Demitri Martin wins the awarded for the best comic I've seen in a few years, Pirates 2 was a great movie...that's about all I have to say on the subject...

Apparently work is hard

....i never would have guessed that hard work isn't easy, as my Dad so helpfully put it. But i suppose i shouldn't whine since i get payed well...

ok, you like the game, i don't, i fricken get it!

Why do people get mad at me for saying i don't like Halo or GTA? it's my opinion, i don't get mad that others do like them more than games i like, that's their choice. It's starting to get a little insane at my school, if you don't like Halo or GTA or sports games, and you play video games you get called a loser. I'm going to stop having my own opinion soon, it'll be a whole lot faster and easier.
