People play retro games for many reasons. Nostalgia is one reason but some people just see an iresistable charm to the older games which you don't really see anymore. Another reason is simply that a certain game just hasn't been bested. One thing about the video game industry is that it's just DIFFERENT from what it used to be. At a certain point in video game history (I'd say around the PS1 era) video games changed for the times and eventually turned into what it is today. Granted, consoles back then had their share of crappy games but at the same time had games like Chrono Trigger and the like. The same could be said of the generation today but I feel this generation just reeks in... mediocrity. But that doesn't mean there aren't good games today. There certainly are, but as far as this generation goes, not as many.

everyone is always procaliming that pc games will die, yet here we are, still playing games on pc inyourface_12There are so many of those arguements against the PC coming from the console side that get debunked in a split nanosecond. "PC gaming is dying" is one of those... But for some reason this keeps on being repeated, and what do you know? We're still here playing PC games.
[QUOTE="Shifty3421"][QUOTE="Skullheart"][QUOTE="123monkey"]Hi as you are all experienced gamers i would like to ask you if there are any games out with really good story lines, deep and in-depth, a story that gets you involved. If you have any ideas please post. Thanks alot.Atlas_FTW
Well anybody that says Half Life 2 will receive an automatic flame from me, because the Half Life series has no sort of storyline what so ever. I bought the series expecting some sort of 'teh awesomeness' of a storyline, and there's really no sort of storyline at all.
Have you even been paying attention in-game? The story is right there. http://members.shaw.ca/halflifestory/I think Skull Heart was just trying to say that HL:2's story was short and stupid (probably because Valved was afraid of making a mistake).
He said the whole series. Explain how it was short and stupid?[QUOTE="123monkey"]Hi as you are all experienced gamers i would like to ask you if there are any games out with really good story lines, deep and in-depth, a story that gets you involved. Not in the top FPS games IMO. The campaign was OK, but does anybody even play the multiplayer anymore?HALO PC- Supports up to 16 people in aserver for multiplayer.Good graphics, and what I like to call a budget value game. It was made by microsoft so you know your getting good, and its only 20 bucks. Seriously though the campaign is like pretty long even at easy and no one can resist a challenge at legendary.
