Some people have been showing their confusion and even disregard towards GameSpot for their choice of Demon's Souls as the Game of the Year 2009.Although I was also kind of surprised (sincerely, I voted for Uncharted 2), after some thought on the matter I arrived at the conclusion that the choice of Demons' Souls as the best game of the year kind of makes sense. I am actually able to see resemblances between the game world and the real world.
As we all know, we are all going through difficult times, as our world can be as unforgiving and punishing as Demons' Souls. In my opinion, this game teaches us that success comes in small doses,at great risks, with hard work and cooperation and that lesson can also be applied to the real world. To sum it up, 2009, a difficult year for gamers and producers alike, will be remembered by GameSpot users as the year that Demons' Souls, a game characterized by its difficulty, won the Game of the Year award.
I also want to congratulate Atlus for this great game, that I haven't been able to play yet but plan to acquire soon.
