You people... Anyone could have found any of these titles listed as must own after a quick google search for sites with top 25 lists or any other forum. It is called a favorite games list and look at this before you say other wise. There is no such thing as a must own game for any single person. If you don't take into consideration of what one's preferences are, then you cannot offer a must own game. "He is buying a DS, he wants to know what the must own games are." If he posted in the recommendation thread, he would have only gotten one reply, maybe two maximum. He went this way to circumvent that. If you don't believe that then here is gamerankings' list - Grand Theft Auto - China Town Wars Chrono Trigger Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Mario Kart DS Flipnote Studio Advance Wars: Dual Strike Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow New Super Mario Bros. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Pokemon HeartGold Pokemon SoulSilver Elite Beat Agents The World Ends With You Meteos Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes Kirby: Canvas Curse Tetris DS Planet Puzzle League The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Animal Crossing: Wild World Super Mario 64 SD Professor Layton and the CUrios Village Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends Nintendogs: Chihuahua and Friends Nintendogs: Dachsund and Friends Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Final Fantasy IV KORG DS-10 Synthesizer Castlevania Portrait of Ruin Tony Hawk's American Sk8land Art Style: PiCTOBiTS Pokemon Pearl Version Pokemon Diamond Version Peggle Dual Shot Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride Metroid Prime: Hunters FIFA Soccer 09 Space Invaders Extreme Contra 4 Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! Dawn of Discovery Mighty Flip Champs! Pokemon Platinum Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Rhythm Heaven Then press next page on gamerankings. Does this thread not feel like spam when people don't discriminate against genres? It certainly wouldn't make someone buy a "must own game" if they don't care about the genre.

Gee, I sure couldn't care less.

I really, really hate everything Kingdom Hearts.

Emandudeguy
I don't hate Kingdom Hearts, but as a hardcore JRPG fan I do stay away from Square-Enix titles. Yes, that wasn't a mistake. Nothing lost.

I remember when games with bad controls and rigged battle mechanics were praised. Back then, games had horrible stories yet people pressed on. It wasn't review sites that ended those business practices, it was the companies themselves deciding to service fans. This is the soul reason I can't trust reviews with scores because it rarely is about game play mechanics, clearly, when games must be finely presented. When it is about mechanics, then they really do go to town and forsake experience and presentation. Anyone who wanted this game and knew about the flaws, will or should continue to want it. Anyone who didn't expect bad scores or are allergic to Famitsu scores, it did decently, should avoid it. This game has enough purpose for me to want it as games are an art and not cheap entertainment for me. This game probably has a better story than any Hollywood movie that will be released in 2010 and if not story, at least how the story is presented would be better executed than it would have elsewhere.

Careful, OP. As it is an opinion thread, I must say none of those are must own from my position. I offer no opinions on my own because must own changes depending on preferences. I could however offer must own titles per specific genre, but I'd agree this is an indirect recommendation thread due to circumstances given. If the story wasn't added in the original post, then it may have had a chance, but I'm sure the thread has been done before.

It really depends on if you like supporting used games or reselling of new games. As older UMD titles grow rare, the ones you miss will make you question whether buying them will be wrong as no money will be sent to the developer. Then again, the new copies would have been sold prior. If you like a fully digital market where there is no reselling and developers don't get the short end from rentals or used markets, then either is fine since the PSP-3000 can be completely digital if someone wanted. I'd go with a PSP-3000 if I were a normal person, but I liked the Go enough to upgrade as I liked the sleek design and I wasn't losing any games.

If you really want to break your addiction that much to talk about it with strangers, then I'd say try a whole new platform. With more games available to you I think you'd realize variety is better than a subscription.

I am leaving my perfect games to be anonymous for reasons anyone can understand, but yes. I really love two games enough that I can't really say any improvements are needed. To people who would rather pick apart their favorites than admit they are as perfect as they ever will be, I'd say you should be more forgiving. If your favorites have something that is so wrong that they make you think they aren't perfect, then you should reconsider if they are some of your favorites. It is pessimistic to hold games to a perfect standard and always say they are below it.

Does everyone in HeartGold asking for my phone number ever result to anything? I am getting kind of tired that they call to tell me about the same things over and over and I saw I can't delete them. This is the first Pokemon I bought since Yellow, so I really have no idea... I know some of them are helpful and are part of the story, but should random challengers be rejected or will they eventually do something useful later when they call?

The DS is my favorite console as well, with the PSP Go, yes Go, a close second. I do not think you're mad, but others may think I am insane. Either way, there are plenty of great games on the platform to not warrant any question. Graphics are overrated, at least the DSi can be played without requiring a television, power source and console. It is great enough to be your main as it is mine.
