As an aside from these specific games in question, the game sword of the berserk on dreamcast HAS to be the shortest and dumbest game ive ever played. i went to EB games, bought it the day it came out as I had seen the anime before and figured cool well maybe if it sticks to the story somewhat itll be pretty good. I beat the entire game on the hardest difficulty in about 2 hours... so i returned it to EB games right then.

Can't believe it though, some games are probably short due to rushing to production and distribution :[

this is kind of funny, someone took a song from beatmania and turned it into 8-bit sounds, then put it back into the game

so now the normal mp3 quality song, sounds like its from a nintendo game.

it depends what youre looking for in a FPS if there is something that would attract you

having complex physics are what draws some people, the online experience is what drives some individuals to play, graphics well there are always some people who will jump for good graphics

in my personal experience, and i have played back since goldeneye on N64 and quake 1 on PC, at least the quake series is fast paced and online so that youre never waiting around... in fact youre scrambling desperately to not get shot or miss any shots you make

in quake, i am part of the quakelive beta right now which is a game by ID Software that is eventually going to be free, and anyone can download it... this game is being developed like quake 3 areana, solely for online multiplayer play. the level of competition is very high, enough to justify kids flying halfway across the country to play in tournaments like quakecon where prizes upwards of $100,000 in cash, automobiles, even beefed-up computers.

in the end its all what is the most fun to you, i enjoy playing quake, where the forward, backward and sideways movement is exactly the same, and jumping repeatedly while holding strafes increases your speed. This provides for millisecond dodging, sometimes a person could fire a rocket directly at you, but if youre aware enough that the trajectory of the rocket will not hit directly at your feet but behind you... you can jump over a rocket as its flying toward you. the lightning gun is like a minigun and drains armor from an enemy faster than the other weapons, the plasma gun is the strongest rapid fire weapon, doing 20 damage per shot when people spawn with 100-125 health... there are lots of things to any online FPS games, just have to find your niche if you do have a desire to play FPS but not sure where to begin or what you prefer.

this game is called Mushihime Sama for PS2, even the system slows down when all those shots are flying, but look at where you have to go to dodge

i put up a bunch of videos of Beatmania IIDX, Ez2On which is an online korean music game, and 2 taiko drum master videos(the imported versions)

some of it is to help people i know who play beatmania, some is just to chart my progress through the games, but mostly just to give people a feel for what the games are like.

Beatmania IIDX:

http://www.youtube.com/v/yW34iG4bsQw

This is considered a Dj simulator, and one of the most difficult games there are.

Drummania:

http://www.youtube.com/v/miHJTktWJko

obviously a drumming game, but predates rockband by almost a DECADE, and the difficulty level will crush anything rock band has to offer... as long as youre looking to play and not just listen to music while hitting something a toddler could accomplish.

Guitar Freaks:

Coupled with Drummania on ps2 actually, controllers sold seperately, this song is only on basic level if it seems easy to you, there are two more difficulty levels above this.

Pop'n Music:

This really isnt related to any real instrument, but its still incredibly fun. Huge controller if you play at the arcade or get an arcade type controller. Takes a lot of stamina and dexterity.

Taiko no Tatsujin:

http://www.youtube.com/v/FhJ7WY429b8

made after a japanese taiko drum, incredibly difficult at higher levels despite only having 4 buttons technically.

Keyboardmania:

http://www.youtube.com/v/Gp0rxcj2KUg

Like beatmania, can be played in doubles mode like in the video with 2 controllers at once.

In short these game series seem to make the american rhythm games pale in comparison to difficulty, complexity and in my opinion fun.

I cant play games that are too easy just for the hell of it so i can hear a song, I have to work for it :]

hope you enjoy
