My favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox, who are 39-47 on the year, have signed their ace pitcher, Mark Buehrle, to a 4 year, $56 million contract extension to keep him in Chicago through the early 2010s!
So, each year Mark should get about $14 million, and it includes a "escalator clause", which means that if he gets traded during this extension, his contract goes to 5 years, $75,000,000, or $15 million a year. Now that he's here through 2011 or 2012, I don't think he'll be going anywhere anytime soon! I'm just so glad that he was able to re-sign! :D
GO WHITE SOX!
