I had a similar problem before. On the back of my modem, there was a little reset button. The kind that you need to press with a pen or such. When you switch it over to the xbox, press it for 15 seconds, then let it reboot back up. Afterwards, you should be fine. This is assuming that your modem has a reset button, of course.RebellionReborn

the best thing to do is contact your dsl support. They should be more than happy to walk you through the basic set up. However, if it gets to the point where the router itself is the issue, they will refer you to the router manufacturer for more specialized support. You just bought the router so in both cases the support should be free and offer a more in depth and specialized support experience than those of us on the boards.

What exactly do I tell the DSL then?

Ok, so I bought a wireless router today. I get home, get to installing it and about half-way through it doesn't work. So I have up, and decided I was going to hop on Live to take out some anger, when it wouldn't allow me to connect. It said the IP address was being shared or something, so now I'm screwed. I share internet connection between my computer and my xbox via a DSL modem box thing, shifting the ethernet cord from my computer to my xbox. How do I fix this problem? I honestly have no idea, and have no knowledge of most things computer. So any help is highly appreciated. =/
