Guys, why would they add another circle pad? Not all games will even use the second pad its just an add on for just a few games. I agree that nintendo should of considered including it in thier first model but if they added it now it would be like making the next generation handheld system and basically ditching 3DS owners.

Imagine the DSi with a second d-pad. Why the heck would they do that???

Not only will you be getting easy lives from all the coins but also by the looks of the new trailer when you die too much you get a golden leaf which makes you an invincible racoon!

What ever happened to hard nintendo platformers?

All these New Super Mario Bros games have been way too easy.

Mario Bros was never an "easy' game. Remember that sense of accomplishment after FINALLY beating Mario Bros 3?

After seeing how the Wii U GamePad can place platforms to help you along im really unsure whether this will be a buy for me.

They need to bring back the traditional style of Mario Bros!!

Now before i get started i want to make clear that i have been a Nintendo fan since i was like 6. Every game console/handheld i have ever owned has been nintendo. (Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii, Original DS, DSi, and 3DS.

I like the idea of the Wii U but i have some doubts about it.

1. The screen on the controller is a bit too big.

The screen measures 6.2 inches (3DS touch screen measures about 3). Both screens serve almost the same purpose. Im not saying the screen should be 3 inches but i dont believe it should be over 6. I mean for something that will mostly be displaying Menus and Extra HUD content it seems a little big.

Making it smaller would: Lower production cost, Weight, and Size of entire controller.

2. Too many controllers for the console.

The original wii had a similar problem but not as bad. I mean seriously we have the: Wii U GamePad, Wii Remote (Some with Wii motion+ built in and some without it), Nunchuck, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, and the Wii Balance board.

There are two problems with this. First, third parties are hesitant of making games for the console because it would require to build a control scheme for each of the different controller options in which case they are prone to fail. Example from original Wii: Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll tried to utilize the balance board and failed miserably (Scored a 5.5 on GS) Previous installment on Wii(w/o balance board integration) scored an 8.3. Third Party support was relatively weak on the Wii partly because of the complications from so many controllers.

First Party games can also make the same mistakes. Punch Out!! tried to use the balance board but flat out sucked. LOZ Skyward Sword tried to use Wii Motion+ but (IN MY OPINION) failed. (I would of much rather preffered a twilight princes style controlls)

I promise you nintendo will try to use the Game Pad where it is not needed. The fact is SOMEgames are not fit for the Wii U gamepad. See how you can just add in random platforms on New Super Mario Bros with the Game Pad? Super Mario Bros used to be a challenging game but this mechanic will defeat the purpose. If there is another Donkey Kong Country game i assure you there will be some pointless Wii U feature.

3. The price will likely be too large for casual gamers.

All the different controllers. The probably large pricetag for the Game Pad and it connectivity with the console. The large increase of power. The casual crowd was what made the Wii succeed so well and losing them could destroy this generation.

Again this is just my opinion. Im not trying to start some comment war her. Please post your comments/thoughts.

Another Metroid Prime game would be great!

Imagine your Health, Missiles, Weapons, Map, Menus, all on the Wii U gamepad!

I honestly believe there are enough FPS games out there but metroid prime isn't what you think of when you hear FPS.

If High Voltage Software could develop a really well made conduit game i think that could be a good 3rd party title.

They just need to get rid of the "cloned" characters.

Example: (Fox, Falco, Wolf) What would be cool is if they added unlockable costumes for certain characters. Like the doctor mario outfit from melee, Classic Wario/sonic. Etc.

Single player needs a new direction though. Subspace was alright but it would be awesome if they could incorporate a really good story.

Two problems with that: 1: You would be holding the 3DS sideways therefore losing the 3D effect. 2: Guitar Hero died back in 2009

Mario Kart Wii completely jacked up the battle mode. I was hoping that Nintendo would realize this and fix it with Mario Kart 7 but its still the same! Balloon Battle is strictly point based and Coin Runner is kinda boring. I remember back in the day everyone loved battle mode and it was preferred just as much if not more than VS mode. The Battle maps for Wii and 3DS are also very weak and feel rushed. Battle mode has been ignored for too long! Bring back the old balloon battle!! Last man standing free for all! When you die you are done until next round. No stupid respawning! How about the drivable bomb carts from the 64 days? At least the item dropping ghosts carts from the ds. I wouldn't mind teams as long as its done right like in the DS Mario Kart. Get rid of the coin battles or at least fix them. (Shine Runner from the DS) (Coin Runners from the 3DS and Wii) How about we see Shine Thief again from the gamecube? What about Bomb-Omb Blast where you could hold multiple bombs that only hurt others? Lets bring back the old battle modes! Who's with me?
