The best thing Oblivion did was mapping spellcasting to one key, and adding Block in the combat system instead of just a passive skill. All the rest was better in Morrowind imo. Story, depth, quests, just the overall feeling of going out and exploring. You just knew that if you followed this little path from town X to town Y, there would be some interesting dungeons along the road, whereas in Oblivion almost all dungeons and certainly all Oblivion gates are so generic. Leveled loot sucks too ... I remember spending hours just to find that one piece of missing Daedric or Glass armor in Morrowind. Good times overall. I've heard Shivering Isles moves Oblivion up a notch, but haven't been around to play it yet.
