The obvious answer is the required Kinect, thats at LEAST a $100 right there. Plus that lil chunk of change they threw at the NFL might have played a small part in the cost.

I really expected SONY to come out throwing knockout punches. This was there E3 to lose, and so far at this exact point (Watch Dog MILLIONTH TIME show) theres nothing thats been announced/shown that screams BUY PS4 DAY ONE! Im really confused, but knowing SONY theyll have an ace up there sleeve. If not, then I really question the guys behind the PS4.

The $500 price point kinda stings cause my wife games with me so whatever console I purchase FIRST (meaning ill get both) ill be having to buy two of so yea. Although without beating a dead horse at this point going the Microsoft route might cause more issues since it seems currently id have to purchase two copies of single player centric titles. For instance I own ONE copy of tomb raider, farcry 3, bioshock infinite, and so forth. If I understand the current situation correctly if we both own a console she would not be able to play my personal copy on her XBOX without it causing some sort of issue. So at this point I dont know, even after the conference. Although I have to admit it was an entertaining show.

I am very excited to see what Microsoft has on hand to combat the somewhat lackluster reveal. I know a lot of people are bent out of shape currently about certain systems in place concerning games and such but all in all I am really hoping they come out tomorrow morning swinging and show off some must have games. Competition only benefits the consumer so if Microsoft can regain the gamers support it will only influence Sony in wanting to be better and such. Its a win win for gamers, although some people swear theyd like to see Microsoft burn to the ground...just...ugh.

It baffles me what gaming in general has become. I actually rather enjoy seeing consoles progress, not so much in the sense of AWAY from gaming, but just becoming a more mature product and not viewed as a "toy". Im only 28 but have owned every console since the NES and that still goes for consoles today. I just dont get so called gamers bashing a company for trying to expand their product beyond just playing video games. The market is so different from back when the N64 and PS2 were on the market. People seem to forget that Sony was the FIRST console to introduce the ability to play MOVIES, They were also the first console to introduce the BluRay format. I never viewed those things as a negative and im glad that I wasnt some 12 year old kid screaming "Hahah LULZ Ps2 is a MOVIE THEATER!". Its just flat out stupid. Every one has a right to have an opinion but to a degree it just becomes very very very immature bantering and middle school comments most of the times in these forums. I get thats it systems wars but more than half the time it always comes down to "MSoft has NO GAMEZ!", or "xboxDONE plays tha sports", it achieves nothing except making you look like a total idiot. We literally for both Sony and Microsoft have not seen hardly anything that just makes either one a must buy day one. Obviously those things will come to light when E3 gets here but people acting as if Microsoft or Sony have laid on their cards on the table and can make a legit purchasing decision is either mentally ill or just a flat out fanboy. Just wish gaming could be about GAMING. I swear people on these forums spend more time arguing about which sucks more than the other than actually playing games.

[QUOTE="gp19"][QUOTE="SkiLLessOne7984"]Flipping through different listings and such I came across this one and the guy wants $900. Here are the specs: Processor- Intel I5 3570K quad core at 3.4 Gz (overclocks to 4.2) Motherboard- MSI Z77A G45 Gaming Motherboard RAM- 8Gb G.Skill Ripjaws X series HDD- 1 Terabyte Western Digital Caviar Black with 64MB cache Video Card- XFX Radeon 7870 Ghost Edition 2Gb/Video RAM Power Supply- 750W Fully braided and modular SeaSonic Gold Certified Case- Gloss White Cooler Master Storm Stryker Full Tower case Again I know nothing in the details but he says it can play anything on high/ultra currently and would be good for at least another year when it comes to graphics.

Yes, that can handle pretty much everything at high/very high settings @1080p. PS. The 3570K can overclock to 4.5 - 4.6 without any problems, but since he doesn't mention it in the description, ask him if he has an after market CPU cooler (decent one can be bought for around $30). Because if you're stuck with the stock cooler, then overcloking is a no.

Sadly I contacted the seller in regards to the pc and he said it had already sold he had just forgotten to take the ad down. Ugh...so the search continues! But ill post other findings to see if maybe theres a great deal out there waiting for me. Thanks for the feedback, ill post more in here today.

okay tc you want a pc for 600 bucks. easily done. coming right up here is your parts list. SECOND you need to go brush up on our official sticky on building a pc. it has literally a photographic guidebook with big fancy pictures. jsut for those who dun liek reading complex manuals (alternatively theres a pile of build video's on youtube they almost outnumber the "lets play" video's :P)

and awayyyy we go:

this bundle $355 (35 dollars in mail in rebates & free shipping): http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1322745

additional ram $29 (free shipping): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148538

windows 7 64-bit $100: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986

keybaord+ mouse $18 (after 15% off with promo code, free shipping): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126193

videocard $117 ($20 dollar mail in-rebate, free copy of farcry 3 /w farcry 3 blood dragon): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?

Item=N82E16814131488

your total sir after all things are said and done (including mail in rebates): $599.00

the system itself on the cpu and gpu level is well above the consoles we have now and will give next gen's early titles a serious run for their money. will it last two years without at least 1 upgrade, mm not likely. but she will handle any modern game at about 35-50fps on high/veryhigh or maximum @ 1080p (turn tressfx off all the time). not a bad bargain for only 600 bucks. and for those two free games. expect to play on high

Thanks so much for the quick response! Very detailed one at that even =D. Im now going to devour all the info and see what I actually understand, heh. I actually did look at that thread and it just completely confused me due to all the complexities of it. Ive been a console gamer most of my life im used to simply plugging a box in and putting a game in and off I go. This will be a big departure for me so im excited, im also tired of where console gaming is headed and im ready for a change!

So im simply going to copy and paste my message from 3 months ago here and actually keep up with it. I had a lot of stuff happen in my life recently and really got away from keeping up with the forums and such but everythings fine now. This is my very first post EVER on this site yet ive been visiting it for the last 3 years. Ive been a console gamer most of my life from the NES till today where we obviously have the 360 and PS3 so its odd that my first post is in the PC forum. My dilemma currently is that with the capabilities of games being pushed further and further ive hit a wall where I feel that even the new systems, how great they may be, I just know PC is going to be that much better. This is NOT a fanboy rant or an attempt to troll, I own a 360 with 97 games and a PS3 with well...8 games (all exclusive..heh). I work with a friend who is a pharmacist so he has a few dollars to spare and he has quite an amazing gaming rig and it just made my eyes melt when I saw it and ever since then a few days ago I have been putting together a plan to ultimately make the switch. My biggest concern is that I quite literally have NO CLUE where to start! The reason I never got into PC gaming is the common issue most hit is the fact that us not in the know feel that we have to constantly bury money into the PC to keep it current and ultimately consoles are a better choice for those lighter in the wallet. Ive had friends tell me this is not the case and that today if I wanted to I could build a PC for $500-$600 thatd be comparable to anything out in the next 2 years and would run anything at max settings. They began to make a list of items that id need to get and told me to try to get them together from newegg.com which I know is pretty popular for PC parts and such. But as I said above...I know NOTHING about PC parts and what does what and what would allow me to build something to meet my necessary requirements in order to push me over the edge and join in on gaming glory. My wife plays games with me so whatever I ultimately decide ill have to purchase two of which is fine but basically I want to know that the things I want can be achieved within reasonable means. I watched the unveiling of the new XBOX today and while I know they havent obviously shown everything I just still feel I can get a better experience with a PC rig. Id have to buy two since my wife plays with me so thats also a factor. Whatever I end up doing will be a LONG TERM decision, not just something to play with a few months and ditch. My Wants: 1) I would like to be able to build something by end of year and play anything within at a minimum a 2 year period (not sure if realistic!) 2) I would like to somehow accomplish the above and soon to come below wants at maximum $600 3) I would still like to be able to purchase games physically cause as I said above I have almost 100 xbox games and I love to have a physical collection 4) Id like to be able to play games through my 55" LCD 1080p TV 5) I want to be able to use a standard controller but at the same time I do want to try the mouse keyboard combo to see if I can convert 6) Id like it to be at least somewhat simple process getting everything together. Dont want this to turn into building a house project =/ I cant think of much else, at least not at the moment. I sincerely appreciate every ones response if you give one and if possible will return the favor. Again thanks and look forward to your responses and time!
