Up To Speed?

Wel, I just noticed that Madden NFL 09 All Play for the Wii has been given a rating. I am pleased to see that GameSpot did not completely forget that there is a Wii version of Madden 09, as they did with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. I can only imagine the reason that All Play was rated after its hardcore bretheren is substantial and valid, instead of GameSpot being lazy. Now, I know that the Editors are hard at work reviewing and previewing games, but how come the Xbox 360 and PS3 reviews for Madden 09 came out immediately and at the same time, while the very different Wii version (which, theoretically, would have been reviewed at the same time) took much longer? I am not, nor do I wish to, accuse GameSpot of partisanship in any way. That being said, who overlooked at least copying and pasting the PS2 review into the Wii slot on GHA? But I will leave that to be your decision.

GameSpot's Missing Reviews

Is it just me, or is GameSpot falling way behind in Wii reviews? I noticed this phenomenon first after the release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The Xbox 360, PS2, and PS3 reviews all came out rather quickly. Even though the game was released in June, the Wii review has not been published as of yet. Now, this is not an outrage or anything, because the game is the same for all of the systems, and I simply read the Xbox 360 review instead. However, I also notice that today, when Madden NFL 09 came out, the PS3 and Xbox 360 version reviews were posted immediately. The other versions of the game are most likely comparable to the reviewed versions. Except, of course, the Wii. EA brought, not Madden NFL 09, but Madden NFL 09 All Play to Nintendo's hottest console. This is a DIFFERENT GAME than the X360 or PS3 SKUs. The Wii review is non-existent on GameSpot AGAIN. I checked other game sites, and I found full coverage of not only the X360 and PS3, but the Wii also! I thought for a moment, well, perhaps GameSpot has some valid reason for omitting the Wii's fair share of coverage, so I checked the Under Review blog. Nada. At this point, I think GameSpot needs to be offering something for Wii owners to chew on, besides another preview of De Blob. But, hey, maybe the other reviews are wrong and the games GS fails to comment on are so horrible for the Wii that they don't deserve any kind of media attention at all. Or, maybe GS is just lazy.
