What is a growth mindset?
Often, people are said to have either a growth mindset or a fixed mindset. A person with a growth mindset understands that skills and intelligence and be built and developed and put effort into overcoming obstacles and facing challenges. Whereas, a person with a fixed mindset believe that their intelligence and skills are fixed and cannot be developed. The end result? People with a growth mindset tend to achieve more and end up better in life too. More information on the growth mindset over here

Most videogames have an experience system built into them, especially role-playing games. The protagonist in these types of games often grows throughout the game and learns new skills and gets better at them as the game progresses. As you noticed, this indefinitely connects with the growth mindset. The player is encouraged to take up the growth mindset to progress and complete the game. As a result videogames help the person to develop a growth mindset in the game which will eventually translate to the person's real life too.
What about the games without an experience system and isnt it just as easy to develop a growth mindset by doing other activities?
Games provide definite rewards that you can depend on unlike in real life. In real life, you arent sure if you would get a reward and benefit from an activity. I recommend you to watch this video:
Because of the definite rewards, you are more likely to develop a growth mindset from playing videogames So back to the topic, you are sure that your efforts will pay off even in a game without an experience system, a perfect example would be the classic Super Mario bros. if you ever played it, you would remember the countless retries you put into the game and might've even noticed you became better after each retry. Games like these increase your determination which is essential for the development of the growth mind set. In conclusion, videogames could be helpful in making your life better as a whole.
Although, you must also take into consideration that you do not become addicted which on the other hand can make you miss out on work and such. Despite all the arguments about violence and other negativities of videogames, I believe videogames to be a new level of immersion compared to other forms of entertainment and we may still have other positive things we still havent discovered about videogames.
