DANG.
I got all hyped up for the conference this morning. As I was biking back home from Driver's Training, I just couldn't wait.
Nintendo had to open with the most anticipated game, LoZ : Skyward Sword. I think it will be a pretty good game, but it looks...
Meh, empty. I was missing not having any story to go off of. It looked like one of those games you can buy at Kohl's for about 20% off with the eye toy. Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE Zelda, but the graphics are just kinda... meh. I really do hope they work on some of the graphics portion during development. I do feel bad for Miyamoto as well, as his Demo didn't go over well. I was recently at the Kotaku website, and the demo there actually worked. So many there is hope. I guess it will have to grow on us.
Now what really excited me was Kid Icarus.
I could really care less if it was on the 3DS. It looks fantastic. They kept the Brawl graphic of Pit, and just made him look awesome in this Flying/Third person adventure game. It really made me want a 3DS. (Which I am still a little skeptical about)
Oh, and the 3DS.
I like how you have the option to turn off 3D. That means I can actually see my games without hitting that bubble of half 3D, half WTF? Now, true, the 3D graphics do work. But if you move it an inch, it won't work anymore.
So, after all that, we still had quite a few surprises.
Goldeneye, Kirby, and DK were all things no one really saw coming. I know I didn't see them coming at all, and was really surprised when they did.
The game that excited me the most was really the only game that had some sort of story behind it. All the others didn't really have any at all. Cept Golden-Sun, but i have never been interested in those games.
All in all, Nintendo did a very good job. They just left so many cliffhangers in their conference that no one can say for sure if any of these games will be good or not.
