They are including all freatures of the wii now. This with it being hd and having online play makes these the best versions. Kinda screws those multi console owners who pre ordered. can always send it back I suppose.

Hey, why hasn't site announced that nba jam has been announced as a stand alone version for the ps3 and 360 yesterday. They also say they will be giving the two consoles all features that the wii include. This plus hd and online which is not included for the wii at all makes this news to me.

??

no and no. I live for technology. TV is more than sufficient and plenty of the correct cables lying around. In fact I opt to play on my 720 instead of the my 1080 because it is in most cases native resolution for the stronger console games. Game cube was not the wii. Game cube was for an SD and SD was still available and probably the more popular of TV formats. Also, the systems before that were never an issue, because all there was back then was 480i. Its not a problem with the graphics being poor so much as the the wii was built to be compatible with an SD television's resolution. Have you ever switched your Wii from 480p to 480i on your HD? Color loss is the most prominent change. The same goes for going from a wii game built for 480i and putting it on a 720p television. The difference is there and you can't deny that on any new generation tv. This would not have happened years ago when we went from buying 480i to a bigger 480i.

Games such as metroid prime corruption and mario series are not a problem, because nintendo themselves do allright planing for this. But though I love titles such as no more heroes and monster hunter tri, they suffer. I do question what the new zelda will look like after twilight. I am aware it was a bad port and they have worked the visual scheme to optimize resolution for the new one coming. So maybe it will be fine. Or, maybe it will look better on a 36" SD. I'm not sure I will find out this time.

I grew up nintendo. I'd like to see them advance here. They are just behind the begining of this new tv age. I really think they need to step over that line and most of the issues go away with the 3rd party software issues.

You say Nintendo's E3 conference was all smoke and mirrors when their conference was really the most straight-forward of all. They didn't rely on circus whatever performances, or celebrity power, or comedy acts to draw in their crowds. It was just them and the games they had to show; and needless to say, they created the most powerful impact on audiences this year all without the smoke and mirrors.Nerd_Man
yea because a bunch of women parading around 3ds is not gimmicky at all :P Look folks, I have all 3 systems. I have a few wii games that are on my top ten list of all time games, but for the most part I play old game cube games on wii, because the line up is weak. So for those that are going to cry out graphics whore or any other kind of silly remark, be aware that paper mario thousand year door gets alot of play time in this house. It is expected that games today look somewhat better than those of yesterday. More importantly if you are basing your entire platform on aging and near obsolete technology, you are cheating your customers. Not sure about your area, but there are no SD tvs in stores here. Once mine is gone, my WII will suffer some quality loss....yes in picture quality...yes that matters. Im just saying, those games they are showing will not look that way on your hd tv. If you want an example, throw in monster hunter tri. The color drop and blur that happens when moving from my SD tv to the HD is awful. I still play the game, because I enjoy it, but I do so on a small tv in a small room. visuals and game play matter together. There are great old games that I play weekly. I am a collector. I enjoy old arcade classics on mame and nes titles. For a new title though, I would expect an increase in performance from the previous system. Progress is important. If you enjoy your games and don't care what they look like, wonderful for you. But for me and this generation of consoles, having an HD saturated home, visuals and game play matter equally.

Ya know, I have always hoped for a great nintendo product that would be superior to all other gaming systems and everytime they put a system out, I bought it. Then I would buy another console and realize, that dissapointing feeling that I was trying to ignore was actual a real thing.

I have been persuaded into trying WII titles again and again and I think I am finally done. I found myself again saying, "I think they got something good going here" during the E3 press conference. Wait a minute. I have been here before. These guys at nintendo are king at selling their product and I'm not falling for it this time. Nintendo is all smoke and mirrors. All these games look great on stage. Almost HD like, but I must remember that once I get any of them home, I will be adjusting my TV setting for an hour to try to make the game look better, reading forums online where people are telling each other that it looks fine or it doesn't, and eventually playing the game long enough to acclimate my eyes to the jags, blur, and low color. Sure I can camp in front of my last remaining SD TV in my bedroom upstairs, but I have a Panasonic Plasma downstairs that I paid way too much money for to be ignoring for a Nintendo on a six year old TV.

Sigh, I am not buying into your crap any longer Nintendo. I have an HD television and I intend to use it with games that are compatible with it. Come out with an HD system and we will get together then.

ok, bring the noise.

People been stand offish about this and I think its funny. I keep hearing it only works for sports. the whole deal with a motion control to me(besides sports) is it gives you a floating mouse with your gaming console.... for one thing, this is the best way to play first person shooters. And now, we can play them in hd as well. The pointer is the only reason I was still hanging on to my pc days. Now there really should be no need have the pc version of, if they make all the first persons ps move. I mean I have been a wii fan for a while, but as good as RE4 was for controls, I always thought, I can't wait till these games actually look good. Its all simple here, wii good controls and ok graphics..cool. PS3 good controls and excellent graphics...wow.
