Portal 1!!!!! (The Cake is a LIE??!!!!)

(SORRY about the crappily cropped images but they wouldn't resize properly :( )

Okay so I borrowed Valve'sPortal from a friend so as to play Portal 2 when it gets releasedand be able to knowmy left from my right. . . and hey, I was promised CAKE!!!!! :D Using that as fuel to drive me deeper into it, I plunged right into the twisted abyss of portals. . . but wait. . .

Are you kiddin me??? I pounded on my desk with my fists like a furious gorilla, and kept on playing to discover what was behind this outrageous scam!!!

Are you kiddin me??? Iwas poundingon my desk with my fists like a furious gorilla, and kept on playing to discover what was behind this outrageous scam!!!

NOOOOOO!!!!! Who wrote that?? Is he/she still alive?? Are they lying or is this the truth??

NOOOOOO!!!!! Who wrote that?? Is he/she still alive?? Are they lying or is this the truth??

Guess what I find when I turn around?? Okay that's pretty much enough. . . I'mma take the fight to THEM now!!! MY CAKE!!!!

Guess what I find when I turn around?? Okay that's pretty much enough. . . I'mma take the fight to THEM now!!! MY CAAAAKE!!!!

And then after taking the fight to them and totally ***ing the last boss:

Yaaaaaaayyyy!!!! My Cake!!!!!! :D Woooohoooooo!!!!! Looks gooood. . . .

Yaaaaaaayyyy!!!! My Cake!!!!!! :D Woooohoooooo!!!!! Looks gooood. . . .

And the moral lesson from this story, kids,is toAlways fight back and EARN your rights no matter what!!! Especially if there's cake involved!!!! Hellz yeah!!!!!!

Now Playing. . .

There are a couple of games I've been playin recently, including Halo Reach (yeah STILL playing it :P), Tactics Ogre, Call of Duty Black Ops(at my friend's place) and just about to get Dragon Age II. . . which the GameSpot review upset me alot about, but which I', getting this week anyways because I'm a huge fan of the original Dragon Age.

Anyways, A day or two ago, I welcomed the newest recruit to my "Now Playing" list. . . MINECRAFT!!!! Which I find very peculiar but lots of youtube videos from here and there really piqued my interestin the game, like this awesome channel I just HAVE to mentionin youtube The Yogscast(Their Minecraft EpisodesPlaylist), and although I've seen many more minecraft videos before, it would be safe to say these guys are the ones who pulled me into it. . . The game is extremely simple yet hosts amassive potential. . . and that is not easy to get in a game. Mind you, this game is addictive and could quickly get out of hand!!!! I really liked the different blocks, materials, and tools you can find and craft/smelt, and there are MANY recipes. Although the game is still in beta, its already getting awesome reviews and has already won many prizes in GDC awards!!!! So we could say the end result just might be even EPIC-er. Much to my disappointment, I'm not good at the game myself, but when I looked backinto it, I realised the game gave me two crappy maps ar my first and that crappiness really frustrated me. . . So you could also say it has some elements of luck. . . .

But in the end, this game is really cool and I'm sure anybody, regardless of their personal taste in game genres, would enjoy this game. . . just watch out!!!! Some people start a playing session on Minecraft and zone out, waking up after a couple of hours in awe of their unawareness of progressing time. . . .

Xbox 360 Slim 250 GB!!!!!!!!!

As of late I've been in a pretty jolly mood this past week. . . . . . why? Because I finally own an indescribably AWESOME brand new Xbox 360 Slim!!! (this thing is hawt!)

I've usually been more of a Sony gamer. . . . . as in I've possessed almost every single console they popped out. . . . from playing my very first game EVER Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (UPDATE: Now that I think about it, I guess I also played some Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog before that on the atari or somethin :P) on the first Playstation to repeatedly enjoying the PS2 and PS3 whether at home or at a friend's place. . . . .although most of my time I spent, till now, mashing on the PSP's little buttons. . . .

But ever since I heard of the Xbox, and known all of Microsoft's "versions" of the console. . . I knew a huge part of my tenacious gaming heart belonged to that thing right there. . . . . or. . . . something like that :| whatever. . . . .

Anyways, the slim Xbox was just too much for me to bear. . . . so I headed over to my local electronics store and snatched it bundled with Halo: Reach (!!!) You'll notice my emblems on your left these days are all Halo ones, including the ugly question marks. . . My next goal would probably be Forza Motorsport 3 :P Way to go on the Xbox exclusives eh?

I'd just like to say I prefer the Xbox over the PS3 in many ways. . . . I won't list them in fear of any revolting fanboys XD But I have to say I still respect the PS3 because of its free online play. . . To me thats kind of a HUGE boon. . .

By the way. . . I'll also appreciate any game recommendations for the new guy here. . . .

Happy New Year 2011 ! ! ! !

Moderated for NO apparent reason. . .

Yesterday, I was moderated by GameSpot. . . or rather sent a warning letter. . .

Apparently, it seems I was penalised for trying to make more justice in the Game of the Year category Reader votings, where the "readers" were deliberatly voting for two games mainly for each and every single category, whether that was to unjustly give it an easier winning chance. . . or because they were too ignorant to care about the specific categories that GameSpot has stated for every gaming aspect. . . e.g: Music, Graphics, Story etc.

When I was no longer able to put up with this outrageous behaviour. . . I left a comment (I don't remeber exactly which of the Special Awards pages) where I suggested they stop doing this and take it more seriously. . . .

And in came the GameSpot moderators. . . . where they somehow took that comment as an offence to other users (?) and I was instantly sent a warning letter. . . . which I didn't like due to the fact that I try to maintain a clean record, wherever that is.

I therefore want to modestly apologise to GameSpot for what they thought was trolling, but I was merely trying to make a useful point!

Adios (I hope someone even reads this)

Microsoft's Games for Windows LIVE is frustrating to no end. . . . . .

First of all, I want to say that Microsoft's "Games for Windwos LIVE" is an EPIC failure. EPIC!!!! It has screwed my and a couple of my friend's lives over the past few months. The First time I ever encountered problems with it was when I started playing Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PC. I was 'ordered' to make an account, or rather "threatened", keeping in mind that they won't save my game's progress if I didn't. At first I thought "Why the heck not?" and proceeded with it. I followed the process downstream perfectly and made an account! This account was only for GMWL alone and did NOT include Xbox LIVE (I DO NOT own an xbox), so it was pretty much satisfactory. Every time I played that game it went smooth and I still didn't see the point of me making that account, but I just ignored it. Then two incidents came along: 1.Raptr came out, and I wanted to show off my Batman achievements, so I had to hook Raptr up with GMWL, only to find out I needed an Xbox LIVE account now (???) 2.I also wanted to play GTA 4 with a friend of mine which ultimatley ended up with me needing an Xbox LIVE account too!!! Seeing the circumstances, I DID make an Xbox LIVE account (funny) and when I tried opening it up with Batman AA, the game started asking me for ANOTHER product key. At this point I was about to lose my sense of reason. GTA 4's probllem was even more complicated to the point that I can't even describe it. . . . . Bottom line is. . . . . . GMWL ended up as a HUGE failure. . . . . which is why my raptr account now has 0 achievements for PC. . . .

Personal Game Recommendations for Each Genre 2010

Just wanted to post the games I recommend for each of the gaming genres for anyone who's interested. [IMPORTANT]: I'm not just mentioning the new games that came out. . . I'm rather pointing out all the awesome games that are a must-get in my opinion. As a result, this list may contain older games too (but only from 2-3 years old) {FPS}: 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3, 360, PC) ~ I don't think I even need to mention this one. Same enticing, adrenaline-driving gameplay and dazzling graphics we knew from Modern Warfare 2, but which are even better in this valuable addition to the series. Although some people might suffer from the slightly poor PC port of the game especially from the possible problem of stuttering. This is one of these games that make you lick your lips just by looking at them and also explode while playing them with fascination. 2.Halo: Reach (360) ~ Sadly, I have not played this game long enough to give a reliable utimatum, for the fact that I DON'T own an Xbox. But from what i played and what i saw at my friend's place, I could safely say that this game is one of the definitions of the word Awesome. From the exhilirating mutliplayer to the mind-blowing variety of weapons etc. , this game definitely stands out from the crowd. {Action and Adventure}: 1.Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) ~ If you still don't have it (:S) , GET IT!!! Period. NOTE: Another great alternative would be Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots (PS3) ~ I know it's OLD!!!! (sheesh) 2.Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, 360, PC) ~ This is probably the best game I personally played since the beginning of this year. Maybe because i'm a big Batman fan. . . . . but whoever possesses the sufficient mental ability would've loved this game from beginning to end. The story's nothing to write home about (maybe SLIGHTLY cliched), but the gameplay is absolutely amazing just like the arsenal of awesome gadgets you are given. 3.Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, 360, PC) ~ A true masterpiece, this game will reel you in with its compelling storyline, well-executed detail to the world around you and numerous abilities and weapons supported by excellent controls. I mean, come on, won't you just love the idea of climbing and jumping between buildings, and assassinating traitors with all of your Assassin-like talents? Only an idiot would turn down this game. {RPG}: 1.Dragon Age: Origins (PS3, 360, PC) ~ This is my favourite genre and I gotta say this game didn't fail to wow me, but absolutely the contrary!!!!!! But first, If you'e not an rpg fan. . . . this one might prove inadequate and sometimes even too challenging as the darkspawn obliterate you easily. . . . But on the other hand, the story is absolutely EPIC, perhaps one of this game's stronger points. The controls are really good and you can conveniently pause the game at any point in a battle to review your strategies. The only real flaw in the gameplay is the abilities/magics which might be a little confusing especially at first. The graphics are mild, but that isn't important in this game. There is TONS of replayiability value here (if you're even able of finishing the game at all) because you can take 6 different paths of the story. . . . . . . TIP: This game needs ALOT of planning and strategy = taking your time, just sayin' though. 2.Dissidia Final Fantasy (PSP) ~ Absolutely amazing game, especially considering the PSP's limited ability. The cutscene at the beginning will dazzle you, and if you're a devoted Final Fantasy fan, will probably blow you away!!! All of your favourite characters (atleast most of them) appear in this NEW "formula" of a FF game. I'm talking about the all-new one-on-one battles!!! Leveling up is pretty much a major factor (as always), there are alot of great features and the battles are very awe-inspiring. The one and only down-side, or rather MAJOR down-side. . . . . . . . (I'm talking too much so i'll leave this in my future review of it) 3.Final Fantasy 10 and 12 (PS2) ~ If you own a PS2, simply get these two games ;) {Sports}: 1.FIFA Soccer 11 (PS3, 360, PSP, PC) ~ The best available soccer game IF you're a soccer fan (which I personally am). {Racing}: 1.Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (PS3, 360, PC) ~ I have generally failed to find a fault in this game after I tried it. Gameplay and steering are very responsive and the graphics are mouth-watering. . . . . . . In my opinion, it's the best racing game of 2010. {Fighting}: 1.Tekken 6 (PS3, 360, PSP) ~ Although I don't play alot of these games, this one absolutely captured my heart (lol). This game can be much fun even and especially if you play it alot, on account of there being a large roster of characters too. - I might improvise on this list later on. . . . The reason I even wrote this thing might either be just because of the free time i have, or even because I wanted to practice my reviewing skills by writing really short reviews (I kinda have fun doing them). Slyfox, Over and Out. . . . . . . . . . . . NOTE: I am a GameSpot veteran and have been using it for a long time, but have only recently thought of making an account :P
