Piracy is hurting the industry not used games.

Espada12

Um if toyata could get a share they would try.. stop comparing industries directly like this....I hope you also realise that when pirates put up an illegal game or whatever they bought that game legally. So yea, about your first sentence.. that doesn't fly at all.

The only difference between pirating and used game sales the speed of distribution. A used game sale may take a bit longer to get around but that doesn't mean it won't get around.

There is a big difference between piracy and used games. For 100k users to be playing used copies of Halo 3 at the same time, 1 million new copies had to be sold originally. But, for 100k people to be playing a pirated version of Crysis at the same time only one copy of the game had to be purchased. Which one hurts the game industry more?

Being able to build your our PC doesn't make it better. Building a computer isn't that difficult, kids do it all the time, so it's not all that impressive. It has and always will come down to personal preference. Which ever system has the games you want to play, that is the system you should purchase.

Constant abuse of DLC.

shaggygrosser
THIS is my biggest beef. If DLC is completely optional trimmings that can be left off, fine. But when DLC is exploited, I get fed up with it.

Which game (or games) had DLC that wasn't optional? I don't have an issue with DLC, it's all optional and you don't need it to finish the game. If you feel it's not worth the money, let your wallet do the talking and don't buy it.

It is really simple... preference. Some people just prefer the game library for consoles.

Even ignoring mods this game is still better on the PC. This style of game is just better suited to the PC. Can you enjoy the console version? Sure. But the TC obviously has a nice PC and seems like they want the best experience possible. For this game that would be the PC version.

These topics are fairly subjective. What one sees as a limitation another sees as a value. There are advantages to PC gaming, no one in there right mind can argue against that. But, there are also advantages to console gaming, while not as many (for some people anyway). That's why I have a gaming rig, 360, ps3, and a wii :-)

Correct me if i'm wrong. Isnt the PC a necessity in almost every house while 360 and ps3 in the end of the day are just luxury add-ons ? actually even if you dont have a pc still price wise is cheaper than console ( as long as you dont go crazy buying the most expensive parts and upgrading every year) considering the $10-20 price difference between game prices and the large amount of great free pc games like trackmania thus buying less games you can still satisfy your gaming needs by free games+modsadamosmaki
I wouldn't say the PC is a necessity for almost every household. Extremely useful? Yes. But a necessity? No. I know more than a few people who get by just fine without a PC or the internet. Granted, the PC is becoming a more integral part of peoples lives and in the near future may very well be an absolute necessity in order to get certain things done. For most households, a cheap laptop and wireless printer will get the job done just fine. Anything more than that is a luxury. At the end of the day what really matters is which system lets you play the games you want to play. Buying a system based on price is probably not the best route to take. It's a good way to save money, but if you aren't interested in the games, what's the point? I can buy a new DS for less than $200 that will play tons of games that I can get cheap, but since I am not interested in the majority of those games, I'd rather spend more on a PC and/or console. Also, which system has the "best" library of games is subjective.

Yea consoles are holding back pc development all the developers have focused on console development. and on consoles you gotta worry about making the game fit on the console rather than just making a good game. also consoles have limited options for controls. see like call of duty 4 on pc has leaning and the console versions dont lol. consoles ruined f.e.a.r 2, the first one had leaning and lead platform was pc, on fear 2 lead platform was consoles and it has no leaning now. because not enough buttons for leaning lol. consoles are holding back developers just making good games.tgertfdftgyhtgf

Blaming consoles for PC games not having certain features or enough graphical upgrades has got to stop. If you want to blame something then blame the developers and publishers. They are the ones soley responsible for PC games not being any good, not consoles. Consoles are not preventing the developer from adding the ability to lean into the PC version of a game. If a game is developed first on a console and the developer simply ports it to the PC without modifying the game to take advantage of PC hardware then the developer is either being lazy or the developer/publisher is being too tight with their budget and trying to make a quick buck.

[QUOTE="Hellboard"] You are a fanboy aint you? tell me why did they throw him in and who the locust are? how it started tell me... but dont spoil gears 2 story...

In the first game you find out, through the course of playing the game, that Marcus was imprisoned for abandoning his squad to go rescue his father from the locust. As for who the locust are, we don't know yet... the gears don't really know either for that matter. Sometime after the pendulum wars is when the locust sink holes began to appear (don't remember if the exact time/date was ever specified). Epic should shed light on all questions as to who the locust are in the last game of the trilogy.

Here's my 2 cents for what it is worth... Yes RAM does play a part, but I would say that time and money has more to do with it than the specs for the PS3. Game developers are pretty smart and can come up with some interesting ways of optimizing code to get more power of it. The problem I think the problem is that they (those that pay the bills) want the game to market as quickly as possible. They spend a good deal of time getting the initial version of the game created on the 360 then rush the port of the ps3 so they can meet a launch date. Time and money is also the major factor in a lot of games not being as good as they could have been.
