Ok Sam Fisher is officially my new favorite character!

Yep, I've finally bought a splinter cell game! I refused to buy SC1 and SC:PT due to the fact that online wasn't that hot, but Splinter Cell Chaos Theory takes the cake. The single player rivals the online multiplayer and there is even offline 2P co-op. In CO-OP mode, there are moves that you can do with your spy buddy that you can't do alone, and that's what makes it so great. I just wish i had friends to come over and play with.

Anywho, I went to six flags great america this friday. It wasn't fun at all. It was raining, wet everywhere, most of the rides were closed, and the rides that were open were ones that i had no keen interest in. The Superman was closed down for about 5 hours, and by the time it opened, I was already ready to leave. The Batman was open, but I wear shoes without shoe strings so my shoes would've fallen off. I got on the Demon and the Viper, two very great coasters. The giant drop was so not fun this time. When you're that high in the air and its raining, it just brings your day down. Overall the entire park was kind of gloomy looking. They're building that new water park and everything was under construction, so it just looked like crap. I personalliy couldn't give 2 poops about the water park since I can always goto wisconsin dells, the world's largest water park.

Yea so after six flags, i hooked up with this girl named amani i knew for a while. We finally went out on our first date and man did i love it. We hugged, held hands, kissed, and just talked about some stuff. We first went to the movies. She wanted to go see that Will Ferrel Movie called Kicking and Screaming. Will Ferrel never ceases to make me laugh in all his movies, (Night at the Roxbury and Anchorman anyone?) It's just too bad that he's not so reknown by now. After that film though, I bet more people will start looking his way for comedy roles.

Anyway, the second part of the date was at Applebee's. We were kinda on a double date so me and amani couldn't do the things we wanted or talk about the things we wanted. After that she drove me home and i just spent most of the night tihnking about her. If you do not have a girlfriend, i suggest you go find one NOW. It's the best thing that ever happened to me.

Anyway, enough of my Personal life. Here's my second bi-weekly session of Now Playing for the week starting Sunday, May 15, 2005.

Kingdom Hearts 1(PS2) - I haven't been playing much lately. I've been hooked on Socom and Splinter cell chaos theory. I did get a bit of playing time this week however. I've beaten the phil cup 4 times in a row and ive also put the page into Merlin's Book to complete some of the Whinnie the Pooh campaign. Also, i went back to the accessories shop and finally got the chance to do the trinity there. I opened up the new part of the shop where i could synchronize items. Also, I found it strange that when I entered District 3 of Traverse town, a bunch of heartless came at me. I thought that when I locked the keyhole, it would be effective for all of traverse. Anywho, that was at least an hour's worth of playing. Also, I was actually thinking about trading in Kingdom Hearts 1 this weekend to gather up money to go see WWE smackdown, but I've changed my mind. I can see smackdown on TV (though I must admit, it is WAY better if you see it live.)

Socom 2(PS2) - Same old same old. Still haven't touched offline mode yet (especially since I got splinter cell). But online, I have moved in rank from 227,000 to 185,000. I've also branched off of my former clan KDT and started a clan of my own called SWT (Socom's Worst Threat) so anyone reading this, if you're interested in joining, please tell me.

Final Fantasy 10-2(PS2) - See my last entry as I haven't been able to contribute any of my time to this game.

And last but not least, the newest entry into the Now Playing files...

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory(PS2) - Wow... that's all i can say. You've seen what I had to say about the game and what I thought about the game earlier, but now it's time to serve the purpose of the section: Where I am currently operating. Ok when I first bought the game last night (I guess the PS2 price dropped to 30 because Ubi realized how much they screwed PS2 owners) ad I started the Solo Game. The first level alone is enough to make you buy the 30 dollar installment to the popular Tom Clancy franchise. The setting is on a remote island. A group of terrorists operating in a discrete cave West of a lighthouse, one of the key areas of operations. My mission is to infiltrate the caves and rescue Morgenholf, the guy they have held captive. I get in, and i stealth my way though to Morgenholt's holding area. I got kind of stuck after i freed morgenholt, so i had to briefly look at a Walkthrough faq on gamefaqs.... Anywho, the next area is near the fortress on the other side of the cave. This area was quite small and took only about 5 minutes to get through the whole thing, but it was indeed fun. Then the last key area, the acutal lighthouse. This was a fun area as i got to interrogate the radio man, make my way to the top, throw a man off the side of the ledge, and call for extraction. Im not going to spoil anymore for you guys wanting to pick this game up though. Im now in the middle of the second mission. I kept getting stuck so i saved my progress and took a break. Online mode is ok, but being stealthy is kind of ruined by the type of technology that the mercs have. They have motion sensor goggles, so even in my stealthiest mode, i can be seen, and mercs have it bad too. the FPS is just not good for this type of game and the controls were clunky and stiff, but its still an ok experience.

Asian Candy = my anti drug

I dont know the name of the candy but its kinda brown looking and is falvored like a fruit from some kind of asian tree. It's really sweet and i've had some before, but only a little and now I'm hooked. I'm going to the store 5 miles away just to get some. I dunno, maybe whoever makes the candy puts an addiction substance in there like they do for cigarettes. Or maybe they're just plain good. Either way, I'm hooked!

Ok now that I've got this new journal, im gonna be putting a weekly "Progress Report" on which games i'm playing and how am I doing on them thus far. So here it is for the Week of:

May 1st, 2005

Kingdom Hearts 1(PS2) - I'm doing fairly well on this game. I haven't got too far, but I did just buy this game 2 weeks ago and from what I understand, you get tons of playing time out of this. I'm currently to be training in the Phil Cup at the Olympus Coliseum :) But I haven't passed the tournament yet. I've put about 6 or 7 hours of playing time into it so far

Socom 2(PS2) - Well, I've had this game for a while, but since i mostly play online I don't pay too much attention to single player. I've been interested in getting the unlockables, however, and so i've started the campaign on Commander difficulty. This is to ensure that when i beat a level, i get whatever there is to unlock. I'm stuck on stranglehold, where you have to infiltrate an enemy drug lab and destroy it to stop the terrorist group's financial flow, since this is where they get most of their money from. I failed my last mission because i told Vandal and Wardog to go stealth to Charlie and wardog ended up going over the mountaint killing himself. It really was frustrating so I put it down for about a week. Online mode is great as always is, but Lag is frustrating (grrr)

Final Fantasy X-2(PS2) - Well by now I guess you can see that I'm playing fairly old games. This is because I don't have enough money to buy games on release, so i usually get them when they're marked down to 20. Anyway, I just started this game and I guess it's amazing. Thus far, I've only completed two missions, but I spend too much time on socom to pay any attention to the rest of my games. Eh, More on this next week as I'm sure i'll have time to play on the weekend.

And that closes up now playing.

I find the game informer magazine rather dull to read these days. I mean the content is good and the articles are nice and informing and the writers have great skill, but why not incorporate some sort of gimmick into their act? In April's issue that had the From Russia with Love cover story, they had a Game Infarcer thing that was like full of funny jokes and spoofs concerning the game world and all those around (comic books, etc etc the usual). Why can't they do that every month? I appreciate the staff at gameinformer trying to stay professional and trying to get the point accross, but why be about business all the time? Give us readers who're paying to read something to laugh at or just a nice smile. Not to say that the magazine is completely dry, as the articles, previews, reviews, and other written work makes up for it. I might send this to gameinformer and hopefully it'll make their mail section because this needs to be heard.

Well guys, I'm off to the store to go buy that candy (im getting 10 big bags so I don't run out anytime soon). Peace in the middle east!
