ok so i played the demo for mirrors edge and really liked it, but it seems like it wuldnt be long, and i dont want to spend 60 bucks on a on day game, so m wondering how long appx is it, does it get repetitive, and is there any replayability?

[QUOTE="SolidSnake1125"]ok i mean could they max out conan, warhammer and hl2?Ein-7919

For the 8800gt:

  • mostly
  • not sure what the system reqs are, so I don't know
  • absolutely

For the 9600gt:

  • mostly
  • not sure what the system reqs are, so I don't know
  • absolutely

In all seriousness, I have an 8800 gts 320, and I have all but maybe three options in Conan set to medium (and those three not on medium are maxed) and I get frame rates in the 30-50s (it'll drop down to the 10s when I first have to load a lot of player models such as entering a town, but other than that it's just fine.

Now, both the 8800gt and the 9600gt are going to pretty much blow my card out of the water. So, I'd pretty much say that with either card you're going to win out in the end (it's just would you rather win with or without an extra $20-$30? :P )

hah eya ok ill go with the cheaper one, can u link a good power supply for that please?

You're asking the wrong question. Both cards can play a whole slew of games. The real question is "What games can these cards max out and still be playable?" Unfortunately, even that question I can't really answer. It all depends on what you consider to be 'playable' frame rates.

In any case, if you're looking for raw numbers, here's the article I used when I recommended the 9600gt as a suitable (and cheaper) alternative to the 8800gt.

Yeah, that top one was the one I was referring to. With power supplies, you gotta be careful. If you skimp on cash, you're liable to get a budget model that'll last maybe 3 months before toasting itself. And, unfortunately, with greater visual power comes the need for a more potent power supply. With the card I linked, 650W would be the absolute minimum. With the 750W in the deal, you're also allowing yourself some wiggle room for later, should you find that you want a new processor or add a couple more hard drives or optical drives.

EDIT - However, if you are REALLY concerned about price and need to shave off as much as possible without sacrificing too much, this video card is about $20-$30 cheaper (depending on the level of overclocking that was done to it...and any bonuses included with the card (in this case, the card comes with Call of Duty 4)).

is that card much worse? bci relli dnt need cod4 and what type of games can i play on the ore expensive card?
